    Abstract: An image processing method includes obtaining a target picture and an initial tone mapping curve of the target picture, determining a plurality of interpolation points based on luminance information and/or dynamic metadata of the target picture, and determining a spline function that passes through the plurality of interpolation points, where the spline function is smoothly connected to the initial tone mapping curve at at least one of the plurality of interpolation points the initial tone mapping curve is modified based on the spline function to obtain a modified tone mapping curve of the target picture; and tone mapping is performed on the target picture based on the modified tone mapping curve. This image processing apparatus enables a display device to vividly and realistically reproduce a scene in a real world.

    Abstract: A dynamic range mapping method and apparatus for a panoramic video that relate to the field of video image processing are provided. The method includes: splitting a two-dimensional panoramic projection image corresponding to any frame of three-dimensional panoramic image in a panoramic video, to obtain a plurality of regions of the two-dimensional panoramic projection image; obtaining metadata of the two-dimensional panoramic projection image, where the metadata includes metadata information elements separately corresponding to the plurality of regions, and a metadata information element corresponding to one region includes dynamic mapping information of the region; determining dynamic mapping information of each pixel in a current angle of view range based on respective dynamic mapping information of the plurality of regions; and performing dynamic range mapping on each pixel in the current angle of view range, to obtain a two-dimensional panoramic projection image that is used for display or subsequent processing.

    Abstract: An inter prediction method is provided, including: obtaining a first reference frame index and a first motion vector of a to-be-processed block (101); deriving a second reference frame index from the first reference frame index, where the second reference frame index is different from the first reference frame index (102); scaling the first motion vector to obtain a second motion vector (103); obtaining a first reference block of the to-be-processed block according to the first reference frame index and the first motion vector (104); obtaining a second reference block of the to-be-processed block according to the second reference frame index and the second motion vector (105); and weighting the first reference block and the second reference block to obtain a combined prediction block (106). Each reference list for inter prediction is allowed to include two groups of motion information, which helps improve an inter prediction effect.

    Abstract: This application provides a picture block splitting method and an apparatus. The picture block splitting method in this application includes: obtaining a picture block in a to-be-processed picture, where the picture block is an object on which encoding is performed; determining, based on a length of a first side and a length of a second side of the picture block, a block splitting method used for the picture block, where the first side and the second side are two neighboring sides of the picture block, the first side is a horizontal line, and the second side is a vertical line; and splitting the picture block according to the block splitting method. In this application, an unnecessary block splitting method is omitted, operation overheads are reduced, and picture encoding efficiency is improved.
