摘要： An acrylonitrile polymer comprising acrylonitrile, at least one of vinyl chloride and vinylidene chloride, a sulfo group-containing vinyl monomer having a higher reactivity ratio than acrylonitrile and a methallyl sulfonic acid monomer, which is prepared by conducting a polymerization in a manner such that at least half amount of the methallyl sulfonic acid monomer to be used is added to the polymerization system in a substantial period of adding the sulfo group-containing vinyl monomer having a higher reactivity ratio than acrylonitrile to the system. The acrylonitrile polymer is suitable for the preparation of a modacrylic synthetic fiber, and the modacrylic fiber prepared therefrom has excellent flame resistance, devitrification preventing property and dyeing affinity.

摘要： When a fuel-cell electric vehicle is running at idle, and a predetermined period of time has elapsed since the vehicle comes into the idle state, forthcoming stopping of an operation of the vehicle is predicted, and the operation mode of a fuel cell is shifted to a residual water reduction mode in which residual water remaining inside the fuel cell is reduced. In the residual water reduction mode, for example, the amount of humidification for air to be supplied to the fuel cell is reduced, so that the air with reduced humidity passes through the fuel cell, to thereby increase the amount of residual water removed by the air. Accordingly, the residual water inside the fuel cell can be reduced before the actual stopping of the operation of the vehicle.

Also, a gas generating composition which has a low toxicity, a high burning rate, and a low combustion temperature and which is used in a gas generator for an air bag. The gas generating composition comprises (a) tetrazole derivatives, guanidine derivatives or a mixture thereof, (b) a basic metal nitrate, and (c) a binder and/or a slag-forming agent.

A composite foam comprising a phosphoric acid type inorganic foam and a urethane type organic foam, obtained by foaming and curing an aqueous mixture containing a phosphorus-containing acid material, a curing agent, a blowing agent and a urethane polymer having NCO groups, is filled in cells of a honeycomb body having a cell size of from 3 to 100 mm and a porosity of from 92 to 99.5% according to JIS-A6931.

摘要： A method of shutting down a fuel cell system includes a first step of supplying hydrogen gas and air to a fuel cell stack to thereby cause the fuel cell stack to generate electricity, and a second step of stopping supply of the hydrogen gas, and then supplying air to the fuel cell stack so as to cause the fuel cell stack to generate electricity upon detection of a command to shut down the fuel cell stack. In the second step, when the pressure of the hydrogen gas is lowered to a preset lower-limit value based on an anode pressure, which actually is measured, the fuel cell stack is caused to stop generating electricity.
