Abstract: A device and method controlling a speaker according to priority data is provided. An audio processor, in communication with a speaker-controlling processor at a device, processes remote audio data, the remote audio data remote to the speaker-controlling processor. The audio processor assigns priority data to the remote audio data. The audio processor provides the remote audio data and the priority data to the speaker-controlling processor. The speaker-controlling processor processes local audio data, the local audio data local to the speaker-controlling processor. The speaker-controlling processor controls a speaker, with respect to the local audio data and the remote audio data, according to the priority data.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for determining a unique wake word for devices within an incident. One system includes an electronic computing device comprising a transceiver and an electronic processor communicatively coupled to the transceiver. The electronic processor is configured to receive a notification indicative of an occurrence of an incident and one or more communication devices present at the incident, determine contextual information associated with the incident and the one or more communication devices, and identify one or more wake words based on the contextual information. The electronic processor is further configured to determine a phonetic distance for each pair of wake words included in the one or more wake words, and select a unique wake word from the one or more wake words for each communication device of the one or more communication devices based on the determined phonetic distance.

Abstract: A process for interfacing with an electronic communications device including a single input interface (SII) for accessing an electronic digital assistant and voice control includes detecting a first activation of the SII, and responsively playing back a first audio feedback indicative of activation of a voice input function. Abstract: A communication system and method are provided to conduct waterway searches for the detection and identification of objects and the generation of law enforcement agency alerts and pre-approved external agency notifications. A water body surveillance apparatus, under control of a law enforcement agency, surveys above and below a water surface to detect objects and collect data pertaining to the detected objects. The communication system identifies the detected object and generates an alert to the law enforcement agency identifying the object. A notification is sent to pre-approved external agencies based on object type. The pre-approved external agencies may include other law enforcement agencies different from the law enforcement agency and non-law enforcement agencies, such as pre-approved insurance agencies, and vehicle repossession companies, environmental agencies.

Abstract: A communication system, apparatus, and method are provided including a portable public safety (PS) radio that scans a portable non public safety (non-PS) communication device having electronic press credentials stored therein. A server temporarily registers the portable non-PS communication device and electronic press credentials. The server monitors movement of the temporarily registered device for boundary violations within a public safety incident scene, and communicates a warning to the temporarily registered device in response to boundary violations. Electronic press scores are saved and used as a basis to determine access to future registration requests at future incident scenes.
