Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided by which a radio communication device relays emergency signals across different channels using dual-watch. A dual-watch primary receiver of the radio communication device is allocated to a user selected home channel, while a dual-watch secondary receiver continually scans a pre-stored list of secondary channels for the purpose of detecting a possible emergency signal. The radio communication device upon detecting an emergency signal in either the home channel or any of the scanned secondary channels, relays the emergency signal to all the channels present in the radio communication device's channel list, except for the originating channel.

Abstract:
A very low intermediate frequency receiver and methods for controlling the same. One method includes providing, using a local oscillator, a first intermediate frequency, detecting, using an interferer detector, an adjacent or alternate channel interference signal and an image of the adjacent or adjacent channel interference signal causing interference with a desired signal, and determining, using an electronic processor, whether the desired signal is an analog signal. In response to determining that the desired signal is an analog signal, the method includes controlling, using the electronic processor, the local oscillator to provide a second intermediate frequency. In response to determining that the desired signal is not an analog signal, the method includes determining, using the electronic processor, a switching condition based on the desired signal, and controlling, using the electronic processor, the local oscillator to provide the second intermediate frequency in response to determining the switching condition.
Abstract:
A method for communicating half-rate encoded voice frames. The method includes receiving, by a digital signal processor, a half-rate encoded voice frame. The method further includes determining, by the digital signal processor, a network access code. The method further includes encoding, by the digital signal processor, a network identifier based on the network access code. The method further includes scrambling, by the digital signal processor, the network identifier to generate a scrambled network identifier. The method further includes generating, by the digital signal processor, an erasure pattern. The method further includes generating, by the digital signal processor, a half-rate embedded voice code word based on the erasure pattern and the half-rate encoded voice frame. The method further includes generating, by the digital signal processor, a half-rate embedded logical data unit based on the half-rate embedded voice code word and the scrambled network identifier.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for pairing resources to equipment is provided herein. During operation a resource pairing engine (RPE) determines public-safety officers at the incident scene, determines equipment associated with the public-safety officers at the incident scene, determines capabilities of the public-safety officers at the incident scene, determines the capabilities of the equipment associated with the public-safety officers at the incident scene, determines the resources at the incident scene, and transmits instructions to pair resources at the incident scene to public-safety officers equipment for monitoring and controlling the equipment.
Abstract:
A device, system, and method for machine-learning based noise suppression is provided. The device (and/or system) comprises a microphone, an output device, a noise suppression engine and a machine-learning noise suppression engine. The machine-learning noise suppression engine receives audio data from the noise suppression engine or the microphone, applies machine learning algorithms to the audio data to generate machine-learning based noise suppression parameters, and provides the parameters to the noise suppression engine. The noise suppression engine receives the audio data from the microphone and, prior to receiving the parameters, applies non-machine-learning based noise suppression to the audio data to generate noise-suppressed audio data, and provides the noise-suppressed audio data to the output device. However, after receiving the parameters, the noise suppression engine applies the parameters to the noise-suppressed audio data to generate updated noise-suppressed audio data, and provides the updated noise-suppressed audio data to the output device.
Abstract:
A device and method controlling a speaker according to priority data is provided. An audio processor, in communication with a speaker-controlling processor at a device, processes remote audio data, the remote audio data remote to the speaker-controlling processor. The audio processor assigns priority data to the remote audio data. The audio processor provides the remote audio data and the priority data to the speaker-controlling processor. The speaker-controlling processor processes local audio data, the local audio data local to the speaker-controlling processor. The speaker-controlling processor controls a speaker, with respect to the local audio data and the remote audio data, according to the priority data.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for registering, by a first controller associated with a vehicle, at least one information device associated with an occupant when the occupant enters the vehicle. The first controller obtains vehicle information and obtains information associated with each registered occupant from the at least one information device associated with the registered occupant. The first controller transmits the vehicle information and information associated with each registered occupant of the vehicle to an augmented reality viewer, wherein transmitted information is overlaid on an image of the vehicle rendered on the augmented reality viewer.

Abstract:
A device, system and method for screening of personally identifiable information is provided. An incident type of a particular incident is determined. Responsive to determining that potential evidence associated with the particular incident includes personally identifiable information, the potential evidence being of a particular evidence type including one or more of media and metadata generated by a user or a device associated with the user, a personally identifiable information processing mode is selected to process the potential evidence as a function of the incident type of the particular incident and an evidence type of the potential evidence. When selected mode is a storing mode, a record of the potential evidence is generated that included the personally identifiable information to be stored in an electronic storage device.
