Abstract:
An antenna connector for a portable communication device including, in one implementation, a housing bracket, a core mounting member, a front mounting member, and a back mounting member. The housing bracket includes an antenna barrel that is configured to engage a ferrule antenna connector. The core mounting member includes a radio-frequency (RF) switch that includes a ground barrel, a first electrical contact, and a second electrical contact. The second electrical contact is configured to disconnect from the first electrical contact when a coaxial connector engages completely with the ground barrel. The front mounting member includes a front guiding section that is configured to connect with the core mounting member. The front guiding section is further configured to align the ground barrel with the antenna barrel. The back mounting member includes a back guiding section to keep the core mounting member connected to the front guiding section.

Abstract:
A latch assembly for latching a battery to a portable communication device includes a latch holder having an elongate body defining an axis, and a latch catch configured to be coupled to the latch holder and to slide linearly relative to the latch holder along the axis. The latch assembly additionally includes a latch spring configured to be coupled to both the latch holder and the latch catch to bias the latch catch along the axis, and a latch button configured to be coupled to the latch holder. The latch assembly additionally includes a latch pin configured to removably engage and disengage the latch holder to retain the latch assembly inside the portable communication device and allow removal of the latch assembly.
Abstract:
A portable communication device and antenna device with robust rotational attachment is provided. The antenna device comprises: a base, the base being electrically conducting; an insulating core extending from the base; a clip attached to the base, the clip being electrically conducting, the clip and the base configured to cooperate such that: the base frictionally retains the clip; and the clip at least partially rotates around the base while making electrical contact thereto; and an antenna element extending from the clip along the insulating core, the antenna element shaped to at least partially rotate around the insulating core as the clip rotates at least partially around the base.

Abstract:
A slide actuation apparatus includes a bezel configured to maintain a configuration of the slide actuation apparatus. The bezel also includes an opening on an external surface. The slide actuation apparatus also includes an actuator configured to move within a compartment formed by the opening and a sliding rail configured to guide movements of the actuator along a surface of the sliding rail. The sliding rail is compressible downward in response to movement of the actuator along the surface of the sliding rail. The slide actuation apparatus further includes a slide contact configured to make an electrical connection to a flexible circuit and configured to provide a signal of a change to a circuit board of an attached computing device in response to downward compression of the sliding rail.
Abstract:
A method and circuit board arrangement for an intrinsically safe portable device includes two or more circuit boards having a frame structure that forms a contiguous boundary around a space between the circuit boards. In the space there are circuit components mounted on both circuit boards, and a connector that connect the two circuit boards. An encapsulant material fills the space bounded by the frame structure between the circuit boards to exclude airborne material from coming into contact with the encapsulated circuit components.
Abstract:
A light emitting diode (LED) display assembly is formed of a translucent plastic housing, a light diffuser film coupled to the translucent plastic housing, a light barrier gasket coupled to the diffuser film, and an LED module coupled to the light barrier gasket. The LED module comprises a plurality LEDs individually controlled for generating a light source to form a graphic on the surface of the translucent plastic housing.
