摘要: A hydrogen-absorbing alloy electrode comprises a conductive substrate, a layer of hydrogen-absorbing alloy granules disposed on the conductive substrate and a binder for binding the granules together and to the conductive substrate. A part of the granules is exposed on a surface of the layer on the electrode. The layer may have a predetermined thickness and the granules may include large size granules having a maximum diameter larger than half the thickness of the layer but smaller than the thickness of the layer. The granules may include first granules having a first average diameter and second granules having a second average diameter smaller than the first average diameter; the first granules may be 5 wt % or more but less than 20 wt % of the total weight of the granules.

摘要: A metal hydride electrode is mainly composed of a hydrogen-absorbing alloy and provided with carbon powder which is selected from acetylene black, carbon black, ketjen black, and active carbon. The metal hydride electrode is further provided with an additive including an oxide and/or a hydroxide of a metal having oxidation-reduction potential nobler than an operational potential of the hydrogen-absorbing alloy. The metal hydride electrode has excellent oxygen gas absorption ability and easy detection of -.DELTA.V, thereby realizing to produce a nickel-hydrogen alkaline storage cell with excellent charge/discharge cycle life.

摘要: Disclosed is a hydrogen-absorbing alloy electrode including a hydrogen-absorbing alloy capable of absorbing and desorbing hydrogen reversibly, the electrode being characterized in that the hydrogen-absorbing alloy forms a multi-phase structure composed of at least these three phases, a main alloy phase, an alloy phase of Ti.sub.2 Ni system cubic-structure and an alloy phase of Ti-Ni system monoclinic-structure, and the main alloy phase has TiMo-based crystalline cubic-structure.
