    Abstract: An image pickup device constituted by a bare chip is mounted to a flexible substrate including an opening portion and a wiring pattern, so that a light receiving area is positioned at the opening portion and so as to be electrically connected to the wiring pattern. A rigid substrate having a concave portion capable of housing the image pickup device is connected to the flexible substrate. A bottom face of the concave portion is set as a reference face for regulating the optical axis direction of the image pickup device, and a rear face of the image pickup device is firmly fixed to the bottom face. A wiring pattern is provided on the rigid substrate, and the wiring pattern of the rigid substrate and the wiring pattern of the flexible substrate are electrically connected.
