Abstract: A light source device includes a light source element that emits light source light in a first wavelength region, a selective reflection element that separates the light source light into first light and second light, a first light direction conversion element that reflects the first light guided in a first direction from the selective reflection element in a second direction, and a wavelength conversion element that converts the first light into third light in a second wavelength region. The first light direction conversion element reflects the third light in a third direction opposite to the first direction. The selective reflection element transmits the third light reflected by the first light direction conversion element. The selective reflection element guides the second light and the third light in the third direction. The light source element emits the light source light in a direction different from the second direction.

Abstract: A light source device includes: a light source element emitting first light; a first selective reflection element disposed at a position where the first light is incident, the first selective reflection element transmitting a component of first linear polarized light and reflecting a component of second linear polarized light; a second selective reflection element disposed at a position for receiving incident light that has passed through or been reflected by the first selective reflection element, the second selective reflection element transmitting or reflecting the incident light in accordance with a wavelength region; and a first polarization direction conversion element disposed between the first and second selective reflection element, the first polarization direction conversion element converting the first linear polarized light into elliptical polarized light. The first polarization direction conversion element converts the elliptical polarized light reflected by the second selective reflection element into the second linear polarized light.

Abstract: A lighting device includes plural light sources, an optical coupling device including plural reflection members each having a reflection surface, the optical coupling device reflecting plural light beams emitted in plural directions from the plural light sources at the reflection surfaces of plural reflection members and coupling the plural light beams to generate a coupled light beam in an identical direction, and a homogenization device that homogenizes the coupled light beam from the optical coupling device. In at least one of the plural reflection members, a cutout portion is formed to transmit an incident light beam on the reflection surface of the other reflection member such that the incident light beam is not blocked by a part of a region of the at least one reflection member on the way to the reflection surface of the other reflection member.

Abstract: The display device includes a light source unit that emits light, a first display element, and a second display element. The display device further includes a light separating and synthesizing member that separates the light emitted from the light source unit into first light and second light having different wavelength regions, emits the first light toward the first display element, emits the second light toward the second display element, and synthesizes the first light that has been reflected and modulated by the first display element and the second light that has been reflected and modulated by the second display element. The display device further includes a light absorbing member that covers a part of the first display element. The light absorbing member absorbs a part of the modulated second light reflected by the second display element and directed toward the first display element.

Abstract: A lighting device of the present disclosure includes a light source device and a reflective component.
