Abstract:
A plate workpiece processing machine includes a workpiece support, a tool punch holder, a tool die holder, a tool drive, multiple tool punches, and multiple tool dies. Various tool punches and tool dies have tool heads of differing heights. The tool punch holder is positionable based on the tool head height of a tool punch secured to the tool punch holder and/or the tool die holder is positionable based on the tool head height of a tool die secured to the tool die holder.
Abstract:
A punching machine is provided with a tool holder for a punching tool and a die having a cutting edge which can be passed by the punching tool in a machining stroke direction and a return stroke direction. The machine includes at least one work support, supported by at least one spring element. The work support is arranged in the region of the die, and the spring force of the spring element is adjustable.
Abstract:
A tool for deburring cut edges on workpieces has a pressure body in the form of a rolling body, by means of which, as relative longitudinal movement of rolling body and workpiece takes place, pressure can be applied to the burr on the relevant cut edge in the direction towards the workpiece while the rolling body rolls along the cut edge. A machine for deburring cut edges on workpieces is provided with a tool of the above-mentioned kind. In the course of a process for deburring cut edges on workpieces, a rolling body is moved along the relevant cut edge with a rolling motion. In that movement, pressure is applied by means of the rolling body to the burr on the cut edge in the direction towards the workpiece.
Abstract:
A press adapted for machining a workpiece, in particular for embossing and/or punching metal plates, includes a pressing tool that includes a first tool part mounted in a first tool mounting and a second tool part mounted in a second tool mounting. The first part and the second part are located so as to be on opposing sides of the workpiece during machining of the workpiece. The press further includes a pressing drive adapted to move the first part and the second part toward and away from each other in a stroke direction during machining of the workpiece and first and second reference elements, where the reference elements are moveable into a relative position that corresponds to a predetermined relative position of the first tool part and the second tool part as mounted in the mountings. The press further includes a control pulse emitter that generates a control pulse when the first and second reference elements are moved into the relative position, where at least part of the control pulse emitter is mounted on one of the reference elements or on one of the mountings, such that the control pulse emitter generates the control pulse automatically when the first and second mountings move into the relative position. The press further includes a switch that is activated by the control pulse and a detection unit that is activated by activation of the switch to detect the relative position of the first and second reference elements.
Abstract:
A method of processing a sheet metal sheet with a combined punching and forming machine includes spraying a lubricant onto on a lower side of the sheet metal sheet in a first forming position on the sheet, forming the sheet metal sheet at the first forming position with a first forming tool, and forming the sheet metal sheet with the second forming tool at a second forming position on the sheet metal sheet after spraying the lubricant onto the first forming position and before forming the sheet metal sheet at the first forming position.

Abstract:
For examining a metal sheet processing operation, a method includes scanning a detection beam along a processed metal sheet by causing a relative movement between the detection beam and the processed metal sheet, during the scanning, determining a position of an edge of the metal sheet hole by monitoring the detection beam, determining, from the determined hole edge position, a geometric configuration of the metal sheet hole, performing a comparison of the determined geometric configuration of the metal sheet hole with a corresponding desired hole configuration; and then sending a signal indicating information about the metal sheet processing operation, based upon the comparison.

Abstract:
A workpiece being processed on a machine tool is moved by control devices to the tool head or work station of the machine mechanically or automatically. A stop defines an area around the work station from which the holding devices must be kept to prevent damage. As soon as a holding device reaches the limit of the danger zone around the tool head, it is switched into a setting releasing the workpiece and moves into a position away from the work station. The machine has a switching element connected to each holding device to be so movable, and the switching element has a switching slide which is acted on by an applied force and is supported in a first position until it abuts the stop when one slide position connects the energy source to the drive of the holding device to move it away from the stop. In another slide position, the connection to the energy source is broken and the holding device returns to the workpiece holding position.
Abstract:
A machine tool center includes a machine tool, a tool storage magazine storing a multiplicity of tools, a workpiece storage area, a robot assembly, and a control system for controlling the operation of the robot assembly and of the machine tool. The robot assembly has a telescoping arm supported on a body which is movable relative to its base, and at the outer end of the arm is a gripper member which is pivotally supported intermediate its length and includes gripping elements at each of its ends. A workpiece engageable member has grippable elements thereon which can be received in the gripper member, and the gripping member will also grip tool members for movement between the tool magazine and the machine tool. Various drive units are provided for effecting movement of the various elements of the robot body. The gripper member thus serves the dual function of engaging the tooling and of engaging the workpiece engaging member to effect movement of the workpieces from the machine tool to the storage area.
