    Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods that provide a computerized device management framework that adaptively determines and applies security and configuration parameters to a device on a first network, and enables the adaptive application of such parameters as the device disconnects and connects to other networks. The disclosed framework enables the automatic detection of different networks being relied upon by the device for access to the Internet, upon which, management control policies of the device's activities can be controlled and managed in a unified manner. Accordingly, the disclosed framework can enable security and configuration mechanisms applied on a first network, upon which they are associated, to be seamlessly applied on another disparate network via a virtual private network connection enabled via proprietary mechanisms implemented on the device.

    Abstract: Systems and methods include, responsive to a Wi-Fi client device providing a password for a zone of a Wi-Fi network, determining a status of the Wi-Fi client device; when the status is unknown, placing the client device in a holding area associated with the zone, wherein the client device is connected to the Wi-Fi network while in the holding area and has restricted access that is less than full access to the zone in an allowed zone; responsive to placing the client device in the holding area, causing a notification to an administrator that the client device is in the holding area; and with the client device in the holding area, one of moving the Wi-Fi client device to the allowed area, moving the client device to a rejected area for the zone, and leaving the client device in the holding zone, based on any input or lack thereof.

    Abstract: Systems and methods for selecting Wi-Fi channels are provided. A method, according to one implementation, includes obtaining a first measurement of a sojourn time associated with operating a Wi-Fi radio at a first Wi-Fi channel, where the first Wi-Fi channel has a first bandwidth. The sojourn time is a metric related to the length of time that packets are queued before being transmitted within a Wi-Fi network. The method also includes the step of obtaining one or more additional measurements of one or more sojourn times associated with operating the Wi-Fi radio at one or more additional Wi-Fi channels. Each of the one or more additional Wi-Fi channels has a bandwidth that is different from the first bandwidth. Also, the method includes selecting a channel from among the first Wi-Fi channel and the one or more additional Wi-Fi channels based on the bandwidth and sojourn time of each respective channel.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for automatically provisioning customer-specific credentials on a gateway device, Customer Premises Equipment (CPE), or the like. A method, according to one implementation, includes the step of determining when a remote gateway device is connected to a Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) server via a network. The remote gateway device is intended to enable one or more user devices in a Local Area Network (LAN) to access the Internet via the network and PPPoE server. The method also includes the step of automatically configuring customer-specific PPPoE credentials on the remote gateway device to thereby enable the PPPoE server to authenticate the remote gateway device and grant Internet access.
