Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus may be a UE. The UE determines whether the UE is located within a sub-region of an MBSFN area based on one or more parameters. The UE receives based on the determination a service over broadcast in the sub-region of the MBSFN area or over unicast outside the sub-region. In an aspect, the MBSFN area may be smaller than a unicast area. In an aspect, adaptive retransmission with a group NACK approach may be used to improve an SNR and reliability.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive data from both a source base station and a target base station during handover. For example, the UE may refrain from resetting or reestablishing media access control (MAC) and packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) layer configurations until after a successful access procedure is performed with the target base station. In some cases, a single radio link control (RLC)/PDCP stack may be used during handover procedures. A source base station may, for example, forward data to a target base station after receiving a handover execution message. A UE may identify and resolve any duplicate data sent by both base stations during the transition. Additional signaling may be used (e.g., during the radio resource control (RRC) configuration) to indicate that a UE supports dual link handover.

Abstract: Techniques are described for wireless communication. A first method may include determining a pattern of signal transmissions for transmitting instances of a signal in a time period of an unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band; determining whether the unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band is unavailable to transmit at least one instance of the signal; and changing, in response to determining the unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band is unavailable to transmit an instance of the signal, the pattern of signal transmissions for the time period. A second method may include identifying at least one reference signal pattern from a plurality of reference signal patterns based at least in part on whether a plurality of transmission time intervals are bundled; and signaling the identified at least one reference signal pattern to a device.

Abstract: A UE maintains continuity of reception of a service of interest that is available over eMBMS broadcast service and unicast. The UE receives the service of interest over eMBMS from a network within a first MBSFN area supporting the eMBMS broadcast service. The UE receives at least one MBSFN threshold from the network and at least one MBSFN measurement from the network. The UE switches from reception of the eMBMS broadcast from the first MBSFN area to one of reception through unicast or reception through a second MBSFN area supporting the eMBMS broadcast service, based on the at least one MBSFN threshold and the at least one MBSFN measurement.

Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus may be a UE that performs a PTT/PTX call setup for communication via MBMS. In a first configuration, the UE sets up a unicast bearer with an eNB, and sends group call setup signaling to the eNB while setting up the unicast bearer. In a second configuration, the UE sets up a unicast bearer with an eNB, and receives group call setup signaling from the eNB while setting up the unicast bearer. In a third configuration, the UE receives a group page while in an RRC idle state, and receives group call setup signaling based on information in the group page.

Abstract: Local IP access is provided in a wireless network to facilitate access to one or more local services. In some implementations, different IP interfaces are used for accessing different services (e.g., local services and operator network services). A list that maps packet destinations to IP interfaces may be employed to determine which IP interface is to be used for sending a given packet. In some implementations an access point provides a proxy function (e.g., a proxy ARP function) for an access terminal. In some implementations an access point provides an agent function (e.g., a DHCP function) for an access terminal. NAT operations may be performed at an access point to enable the access terminal to access local services. In some aspects, an access point may determine whether to send a packet from an access terminal via a protocol tunnel based on the destination of the packet.

Abstract: Transfer of Multimedia Broadcast/Multicast Services (MBMS) over a Single Frequency Network (MBSFN) service and idle mode unicast service for a mobile entity from a source base station to a target base station may be managed by a base station or mobile entity of a cellular wireless communications system (WCS). Operations related to the transfer may include obtaining an MBMS status of the mobile entity, and/or obtaining MBMS support information for the base station. A network entity may facilitate MBMS discovery by a mobile entity, by transmitting a data element to the mobile entity including service identifiers mapped to corresponding cell identifiers to indicate respective MBMS services to be broadcast in an WCS area on adjacent cells identified by respective ones of the cell identifiers. The MBMS services may be broadcast within the WCS area using the adjacent cells previously indicated in the data element.

Abstract: An over-the-air (OTA) broadcast middleware unit is configured to receive aggregated session description data for a plurality of sessions, wherein each of the sessions transports media data related to common media content, and wherein each of the sessions is transmitted as part of an OTA broadcast, and extract at least some of the media data from the OTA broadcast based on the aggregated session description data. The OTA broadcast middleware unit may further deliver the extracted media data to a streaming client, such as a Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH) client.

Abstract: Techniques are described for wireless communication. A first method includes determining that a first node associated with a first operator in a deployment of operators has emergency data to transmit over an unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band and transmitting, by the first node, a signal over the unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band. The signal may indicate that the first node has emergency data to transmit. A second method includes receiving, at a first base station associated with a first operator in a deployment of operators, an uplink transmission from a user equipment (UE) indicating that the UE has emergency uplink data to transmit over an unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band and transmitting, by the first base station, an indication to a second base station that the UE has emergency uplink data to transmit over the unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band.
