Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for inter-message certificate and digest arrangements in wireless communications systems. A first wireless device may transmit a message with a certificate, where subsequent messages include digests that correspond to the certificate. Digests may have a smaller data size than the certificate. A second wireless device may use a digest to identify a corresponding certificate transmitted in the message, and the second wireless device may use the certificate to verify that the first wireless device is the authorized transmitter of each message. In some examples, the message with the certificate may be an anchor message. In some examples, the message with the certificate may be an earliest message after an expiration or restart of a timer.

Abstract: Various embodiments provide methods, vehicle computing devices, storage media, and systems for briefly providing PathHistory information in Broadcast Safety Messages (BSMs) sent from a vehicle when PathHistory information is not required to be included in all BSMs. Various embodiments may include broadcasting BSMs including PathHistory information during a period of time following a change of the vehicle's pseudonym certificate and broadcasting BSMs without PathHistory information at all other times. Some embodiments may further include determining whether sufficient path history points are available for PathHistory information generation, accumulating path history points in response to determining that sufficient path history points are not available for PathHistory information generation, and broadcasting BSMs including PathHistory information during the period of time once sufficient path history points have been accumulated.

A user equipment (UE), such as a vehicle, may access a location-based service using information provided by a roadside unit (RSU). For example, the RSU may generate an indication of a network address associated with the location-based service and may broadcast a sidelink message that includes the indication of the network address to the UE. The UE may receive the sidelink message and may access the location-based service over a connection with a base station using the network address. The UE may access the location-based service based on a location of the UE and may receive location-based information from the location-based service over the connection with the base station.

A user equipment (UE) may identify a message to be transmitted over a wireless channel, such as a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) system. The UE may determine a channel reservation limit for reserving resources on the wireless channel for the message based on a channel busy ratio for the wireless channel. The UE may determine that available resources are insufficient for both an initial transmission of the message and a retransmission of the message based on the channel reservation limit. The UE may reserve a resource on the wireless channel for the initial transmission of the message based on the available resources being insufficient for both the initial transmission of the message and the retransmission of the message.

Abstract: Aspects relate to estimating occupancy of a wireless communication channel. A first user equipment (e.g., a first sidelink device) may transmit to a second user equipment (e.g., a second sidelink device) via one or more subchannels allocated for device-to-device communication. The second user equipment may also transmit to the first user equipment via one or more of the subchannels. To mitigate interference on the subchannels, the second user equipment may measure received signal strength on the subchannels to estimate the occupancy of the subchannels (e.g., by calculate a channel busy ratio). In addition, the second user equipment may account for signal leakage from a first subchannel (e.g., on which the first user equipment is transmitting data) onto a second subchannel. As a result, subchannels that may otherwise be indicated as occupied due to leakage may instead by indicated as unoccupied, thereby improving the accuracy of the channel occupancy estimation.
