摘要: A film-forming cosmetic composition useful as a facial pack, nail enamel, eye liner etc., which comprises a copolymer of vinyl alcohol and alkyl vinyl ether, being referred to simply as PVA/AVE, consisting of 98 to 80 mole % of vinyl alcohol monomer units and 2 to 20 mole % of linear or branched alkyl vinyl monomer units having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms. The molar ratio of the vinyl alcohol monomer units to the alkyl vinyl ether monomer units is in the range of from 95/5 to 85/15. The PVA/AVE according to the invention has no acetic groups with ester bonds in a molecule. Instead, there are alkyl or alkenyl groups having ether bonds which serve for steric hindrance for preventing gelation of an aqueous solution of such copolymer. From this reason, the PVA/AVE does not undergo any hydrolysis as time passes and is thus excellent in storage stability.

摘要: A portable-device position determination system has a portable device that is configured to be possessed by a user, and an in-vehicle device that is mounted on a vehicle and conducts wireless communication with the portable device. The in-vehicle device transmits a request signal to the portable device. The portable device detects a received signal intensity of the request signal to send back the received signal intensity to the in-vehicle device. The in-vehicle device compares the received signal intensity of the request signal detected by the portable device to a threshold to determine a position of the portable device. The in-vehicle device includes a transmission controller that generates the request signal, supplies an electric power to a transmitting antenna, and transmits the request signal from the transmitting antenna, and a current detector that detects a current passed through the transmitting antenna when the request signal is transmitted.

摘要: In a pyrometallurgical smelting method of copper, the copper-ore and auxiliary fuel, such as carbonaceous material, is blown through an ore-concentrate burner into a reaction shaft. In an improved pyrometallurgical smelting of copper, the carbonaceous material is used to reduce the Fe.sub.3 O.sub.4 contained in the slag. The present invention provides an improved method for reducing the Fe.sub.3 O.sub.4 even in a case at a decreased amount of auxiliary fuel is to be decreased. The carbonaceous material is blown into a lower portion of the reaction shaft where the oxygen partial pressure is low.

摘要: In the operation, a flux mainly composed of silica ore and a non-ferrous metal-ore raw-material are charged into a smelting furnace via a conveying system. In order to increase the production amount of the metal, the flux is conveyed and treated through a first system, in which the flux is crushed in a ball mill and dried in the ball mill while hot air is blown into the ball mill, and the crushed and dried flux is conveyed directly before the smelting furnace. In the drier of copper concentrate, the flux is not dried at all.

摘要: A syndrome sequential decoding system for error correction of a convolutional code has a syndrome former for providing a syndrome sequence from a received sequence, a syndrome buffer memory for storing the syndrome sequence, an estimated error buffer memory for storing an estimated error sequence, a syndrome register for representing a syndrome state under searching, a comparator for testing if content of the syndrome register is all zero, and an algorithm controller. The algorithm controller controls the syndrome register, calculates a path metric and raises a flag in the estimated error buffer memory for showing an estimated error bit position. The syndrome sequential decoding system also includes an exclusive-OR circuit for correcting an information bit error according to the output of the estimated error buffer memory. When the content of the syndrome register is all zero, it shows that a currently searching path merges with the maximum likelihood path. Then a decoded sequence up to this point is explicitly determined. Moreover no further search will be required as long as the following syndromes remain zero. When the content of the syndrome register becomes nonzero, the normal path search restarts at this point. A back search limit pointer is provided on the estimated error buffer memory and a syndrome buffer memory to show the limit of the depth of back search.
