    Abstract: An exhaust system includes a plurality of cylinders, and each cylinder includes a scavenge exhaust valve and a blowdown exhaust valve. A scavenge path leads from the scavenge exhaust valves and a blowdown path leads from the blowdown exhaust valves. An arrangement activates and deactivates the scavenge exhaust valves and the blowdown exhaust valves. Further included is a cam shaft including a plurality of scavenge cams and a plurality of blowdown cams. During rotation of the cam shaft, the scavenge cams interact with the scavenge exhaust valves to open and close the scavenge exhaust valves when the scavenge exhaust valves are activated. Additionally, during rotation of the cam shaft, the blowdown cams interact with the blowdown exhaust valves to open and close the blowdown exhaust valves when the blowdown exhaust valves are activated, and at different times with respect to the opening and closing of the scavenge exhaust valves.

    Abstract: A fuel injector includes an injector body with a fuel chamber configured to receive fuel from a fuel line, an injector tip provided at an end of the injector body, and one or more nozzle assemblies provided in the injector tip. The one or more nozzle assemblies have a fuel channel in fluid communication with the fuel chamber, a premixing tube fluidly connected to the fuel channel, and a port fluidly connected to the premixing tube. The premixing tube has an orifice providing an outlet for the injector tip.

    Abstract: A prechamber device includes an enclosure body and a cap forming an enclosed volume. The enclosure body has an orifice at one end. A precombustion chamber is defined within the enclosed volume and is in fluid communication with the orifice. A valve plug is movable along an axial axis of the enclosure body to adjust a valve opening at the orifice to a range of positions from a fully open position to a closed position. An actuator is coupled to the cap and the valve plug and is controllable to displace the valve plug along the axial axis of the enclosure body. The prechamber device is operable to generate turbulent jets that are directed into a main combustion chamber of an engine cylinder through the valve opening. During an engine cycle, the valve opening is controlled between the range of positions based on detected engine speed and engine load.
