    Abstract: The present subject matter refers targeting paging reduction to improve upon power consumption performance for the user equipment in wireless networks. The methods and systems are disclosed where indication signal is applied for idle/inactive mode UEs. In one embodiment of the present disclosure, an indication signal is introduced for idle/inactive mode UEs for paging reception. In another embodiment, the group of UEs may be divided into plurality of paging sub-groups of UEs having common paging occasion and each paging sub-group be assigned a paging sub-group ID. This paging sub-group ID may be incorporated in the indicating signal to reduce paging reception. The indicating signal may indicate presence or absence of paging DCI for a UE/or a paging sub-group identity of UE/UEs.

    Abstract: A lossless Random Access Channel (RACH) procedure is described for a wireless communication network. The method includes determining whether size of an uplink (UL) grant is less than size of a Medium Access Control (MAC) layer protocol data unit (PDU) of a Msg3. In response to determining that the size of the UL grant is less than the size of the MAC PDU of the Msg3 performing one of: rebuilding the MAC PDU of the Msg3 using one or more MAC Sub PDUs (SDUs) based on the UL grant and transmits a rebuilt MAC PDU of the Msg3; initiating new RACH procedure; and updating one or more MAC CE in the Msg3. In response to determining that the size of the UL grant is not less than the size of the MAC PDU of the Msg3, updating the one or more MAC CE in the MAC PDU of the Msg3 based on values of the UL grant and transmits the updated MAC PDU of the Msg3.

    Abstract: Methods and systems for handling power saving signals to improve power saving performance of UE. A method disclosed herein includes enabling, a User Equipment (UE), to monitor a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) for downlink control information based on a reception of power saving signals from a Base Station with respect to a discontinuous-reception (DRX) cycle. The power saving signals include a Wake Up Signal (WUS), Go To Sleep (GTS) signal and PDCCH adaptation signal. The method further includes enabling the UE to monitor the PDCCH, if the WUS indicates presence of the PDCCH and enables the UE to skip the monitoring of the PDCCH during an On-duration of the DRX cycle, if the WUS indicates absence of the PDCCH. The method further includes enabling the UE to skip the monitoring of the PDCCH in an active time of the DRX cycle, on receiving the GTS signal.

    Abstract: The present disclosure describes methods of operating user equipment in 5G NR communications system. In accordance with some of the embodiments, the method comprises detecting a condition related to the user equipment (UE) while in one of a radio frequency (RF) inactive state and a cell handover, the condition indicating one of (a) the UE is not in reception of signaling information from a serving base station during the RF inactive state and (b) the UE is out of synchronization with the serving base station; determining an event related to one of transmission of data by the UE, reception of data by the UE, and radio resource management (RRM) measurement by the UE in conjunction with the detected condition; and applying one or more of (a) a blind downlink control information (DCI) decoding, (b) a static DCI configuration and (c) a dynamic DCI configuration based on the determination to enable the UE to at least one of (a) receive the signaling information, (b) receive the data, and (c) perform radio resource management (RRM) measurement.
