Abstract:
A method for initiating a connection is provided. The method includes receiving an intent by an intermediate device from a seeker device when the seeker device is connected to the intermediate device, wherein the intent comprises a service intent and an identifier of the seeker device and initiating the connection by sending a connection request to a target device by the intermediate device, wherein the connection request comprises the identifier of the seeker device and at least one parameter.
Abstract:
A method and system for transferring a file from a home network to Wide Area Network (WAN) user device using the Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) telephony service are provided. A request is received from a Telephony Control Point (TCP) to start a file transfer session. The request can include information associated with the file. The file transfer session is established using a messaging service based on the request and file information received in the request from the TCP. The file is fetched from the TCP and stored in the TS. An invite is sent to the WAN user device for initiating the file transfer session from the home network to the WAN user device. The file is transferred to the WAN user device when an acknowledgment of the invite is received from the WAN user device.
Abstract:
A method and system for initiating a subsequent connection is provided. The method includes sending by a first device a connection request including bootstrap information from the first device to establish an initial connection with a second device, wherein the bootstrap information comprises at least one of channel information, a power profile associated with the second device, and a role; and initiating by the first device the subsequent connection with the second device after receiving a successful connection response including bootstrap information from the second device.
Abstract:
The various embodiments herein provide a method and system for dual role handling between at least two devices in a wireless environment. The method comprises seeking, by a first device, at least one device with a specified connection topology, establishing a connection with a second device having a same connection topology, establishing an Application service platform (ASP) session with the second device once the connection is established between the first device and the second device, sending, by the first device, a role negotiation message comprising a request for role change to the second device, wherein the role negotiation message corresponds to a WSB message, receiving a custom message for confirmation, if the second device accepts the role change, and changing the connection topology between the first device and the second device once the role negotiation between the first device and the second device is completed.
Abstract:
A method for establishing a service session in a wireless peer-to-peer (P2P) network is provided. The method includes sending an intent from a seeker device to an advertiser device during a Near Field Communication (NFC) data exchange between the seeker device and the advertiser device, wherein the intent corresponds to at least one service and at least one parameter and establishing the service session between the seeker device and the advertiser device when the at least one service is supported by the advertiser device.
Abstract:
The present invention is configured such that a transmitter transmits group information and group intent information in addition to a service association frame, and constructs a topology based on the response from a receiver. The method according to one embodiment of the present invention is a method in which a first device cooperates with a second device to form a peer-to-peer (P2P) group, the method comprising the steps in which: the first device cooperates with the second device to perform a terminal discovery process and a service discovery process; a the first device transmits a request message, including connection capabilities, to the second device; the first device receives a response message to the request message from the second device; and the first device cooperates with the second device to form a group based on the negotiated group type information included in the response message.
Abstract:
A host for setting a power control mode in a wireless communication system, and a method thereof, are provided. The host determines a type of at least one device, selects a first power control mode based on the type of the device, transmits, to the device, a first power control message including the selected first power control mode, selects a second power control mode based on a video to be played back, and transmits, to the device, a second power control message including the selected second power control mode. A device for setting a power control mode in a wireless communication system, and a method thereof, are also provided.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for providing service persistence support and corresponding mapping with the P2P group persistence behavior between a WSB host and a WSB client is described. The method includes receiving a request for a persistent P2P USB connection from the WSB host. The method includes creating a group with the WSB client. Further, the method includes configuring a service identifier associated with the persistent P2P USB connection. Furthermore, the method includes mapping the created persistent P2P group with the service identifier. The method includes storing the service identifier mapped with the created persistent P2P group and the persistent P2P USB connection. The method allows the WSB client to provide the persistent USB service to the WSB host.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for performing multiple service discovery in a wireless environment. The method includes generating a probe request containing a class information and a sub class information of a plurality of advertiser devices by a seeker device, transmitting the probe request for service discovery to at least one advertiser device of the plurality of advertiser devices and receiving a probe response from the at least one advertiser device. The probe response comprises at least one of the class information and the sub-class information associated with the at least one advertiser device.
