摘要: An illuminating device includes a plurality of light source portions for emitting light, a plurality of optical fibers for allowing incidence of the light emitted from the respective light source portions, and a bundling portion for bundling exit ends of the optical fibers. The light source portions or the optical fibers are constructed in such a manner that a flexure of each of the optical fibers is suppressed to mount the each optical fiber in a state close to a straight state. For instance, the light source portions are arranged in an arc shape, with a distance of each of the light source portions with respect to the bundling portion being set as the radius of the arc shape. In this arrangement the respective optical fibers are set to have lengths substantially equal to each other.

摘要: A projection display apparatus displays an image on a projection surface in cooperation with a second projection display apparatus. The projection display apparatus includes: a detection unit that detects the position of the second projection display apparatus; and a switching unit that performs switching between a stack display mode and a tile display mode on the basis of the position of the second projection display apparatus. In the stack display mode, an image projected by the projection display apparatus and an image projected by the second projection display apparatus are displayed on a projection surface in a stacked manner. In the tile display mode, an image projected by the projection display apparatus and an image projected by the second projection display apparatus are displayed on a projection surface in a side-by-side manner.

摘要: An image signal storing unit stores an image signal provided from the outside. An image processing unit appropriately processes the image signal stored in the image signal storing unit in accordance with the instruction from an adjusting unit. A projecting unit projects, onto a display area, light corresponding to an image created by the image processing unit. A display size determination unit computes the display size of the picture plane displayed on a screen based on an image captured by the camera provided adjacent to the projection-type video-image display device. The display size determination unit then determines whether or not the display size of the picture plane is equal to or larger than a predetermined upper-limit size.
