摘要: A wavelength converter emits light in response to laser light emitted from a light emitter. The wavelength converter includes a surface including a first area to directly receive the laser light from the light emitter, and a second area located on a member. The light emitted from the wavelength converter includes a first component emitted directly from the wavelength converter and input directly into the light receiver, and a second component emitted from the second area, reflected from the member, and input into the light receiver. The member includes a surface including a third area to receive the second component. The third area has a reflectance for the light greater than a reflectance of the wavelength converter for the light in the second area.

An optical system enables an indicator unit comprising a display on the rear side to be visibly displayed through the micro-perforation of the shaped part. The display is a microLED display, the pixels of which are formed by microLEDs, and the optical system is a micro-optical system having micro-structures, wherein each micro-structure extends from the rear side of the decorative layer into a hole associated therewith in the micro-perforation in the decorative layer. Each micro-structure is associated with a microLED and is arranged and designed such that it guides the light emanating from the microLED associated therewith through the hole associated therewith to the front side of the decorative layer.

摘要: A lighting unit for a display panel includes a light distribution module, an array of out-couplers, and a beam spot array generation module. The light distribution module includes a plurality of output waveguides for configurably distributing illuminating light between the output waveguides. Each out-coupler is coupled to an output waveguide and configured to out-couple a portion of the illuminating light to propagate towards the display panel. The beam spot array generation module is configured to receive portions of the illuminating light out-coupled by out-couplers of the array of out-couplers and to convert each portion to illuminate a zone of the display panel with an illuminating light field comprising an array of light spots. Each light spot is configured for illuminating an individual pixel or sub-pixel of the zone of the display panel.

Electrical components such as optical components may be located in the inactive area. An image transport layer may be formed from a coherent fiber bundle or Anderson localization material. The image transport layer may overlap the pixels, may have an opening that overlaps portions of the inactive area, may have an output surface that overlap portions of the inactive area, and/or may convey light associated with optical components in the electronic device.

摘要: In one aspect, a light module is disclosed, which includes a housing providing a hollow chamber extending from a proximal end to a distal end, and a lens positioned in the hollow chamber, where the lens has a lens body comprising an input surface for receiving light from a light source and an output surface through which light exits the lens body, said lens further comprising a collar at least partially encircling said lens body. The light module further includes at least one shoulder on which the lens collar can be seated for positioning the lens within the housing. A light source, e.g., an LED, is coupled to the hollow chamber, e.g., at its proximal end, for providing light to the lens. In some embodiments, an optical window is disposed in the hollow chamber and is optically coupled to the output surface of the lens such that the light exiting the lens passes through the optical window before exiting the light module. In some embodiments, the shoulder can be formed as part of the housing. In other embodiments, the shoulder can be provided by a sleeve disposed in the module's housing.
