摘要: A pressure transmitter with a fluid isolator that includes a sensor tube and a fill tube that have “D” shaped ends that connect together in a port internal to the transmitter. The shaped ends can be brazed into the port for sealing. Fitting both the sensor tube and the fill tube in the same port provides a low cost isolator with reduced isolator liquid volume. The fluid isolator has an isolator diaphragm with a central diaphragm region overlying a central backing plate that includes a annular groove. The annular groove avoids slow response of the isolator after an overpressure condition.

摘要: A pressure sensor module and method for pre-installation without a converter module. The pressure sensor module is hermetically sealed and can remain undamaged in an installation environment without a converter module. The pressure sensor module can be assembled later with a converter module in the installation environment. The pressure sensor module includes an isolator, a pressure sensor and a circuit that provides a bus for energization, control and a digital pressure output. The bus is connected to contacts in an insulating feedthrough. An integrally formed hermetic external support structure surrounds the pressure sensor and circuit. The hermetic external support structure has a threaded process fluid inlet around the isolator, and a threaded support sleeve supporting the feedthrough.

摘要: A volumetric flow controller is used in connection with a virtual impactor classifier to control two separate flows in separate lines from an air pump. Each line has a flow control valve controlled in response to flow signals that are obtained from a pressure transducer that provides an electrical signal proportional to pressure. Pressure changes are sensed and the provided electrical signal is compared with a reference and will actuate a damper motor and move a flow control butterfly valve in the flow line for adjusting the flow when the pressure signal is different from the reference. The circuitry used provides for a dead band, so that changes in the butterfly valve setting will not occur unless the flow varies a selected amount, and also a timer control is used so that the motor operating the damper will be operated only at selected time intervals to prevent "hunting" or continuous operation of the valves. Further, temperature compensation signals can be provided as desired. The ability to control the flow volume provides for more accurate aerosol sampling and cut off points for the size of particles being sampled.

The sensor module has a sensor output that is configurable which can connect locally to a scalable transmitter module to form a transmitter, or can be wired directly to a remote receiver. The scalable transmitter can mount on the unitized sensor module and generates a scalable output for a remote receiver. The transmitter module can provide more advanced features for specific applications.

摘要: A process control instrument adapted to provide an output indicative of a parameter of a process fluid is disclosed. The process control instrument is designed to be attachable to a flange having a first passageway filled with process fluid. A body of the process control instrument has an opening adjacent to the first passageway adapted to receive process fluid from the first passageway. An isolation diaphragm is positioned in the opening of the body and separates the opening and the first passageway from a second passageway. A weld ring positioned in the opening is adapted to evenly distribute an attachment force across a support surface such that damage to the isolation diaphragm is minimized.
