A method includes identifying an initial variant playlist for a content item. The initial variant playlist lists a first plurality of bit rate streams. Client devices that receive the content item based on the initial variant playlist are identified. The method includes determining bit rate stream consumption metrics of the client devices for the content item based on the initial variant playlist, and determining an optimized variant playlist based on the initial variant playlist and the consumption metrics of the client devices for the plurality of bit rate streams. The optimized variant playlist lists a second plurality of bit rate streams and substantially optimizes video quality based on streaming resource constraints associated with the at least one client device. The method also includes providing the content item to the client devices based on the optimized variant playlist.

Additionally, a method, a device, and a non-transitory storage medium provide an in-home media server device that stores programs in a same format as a format of the programs stored in a content delivery network, and provide an error correction service in which a portion of a program including an error, initially received via a multicast or broadcast transmission, is replaced with a corrected portion of the program via a unicast transmission. A device may store and transmit data collected from sensors within a vehicle. The device may include at least one communication interface; a memory configured to store instructions; and a processor, coupled to the at least one communication interface and the memory. The processor may be configured to execute the instructions stored in the memory. The instructions may cause the processor to receive an initiation signal from an on-board interface associated with a vehicle, establish communications with the on-board interface and at least one vehicle sensor in response to the initiation signal, receive a first data stream from the at least one vehicle sensor, generate a second data stream from the least one internal sensor, combine the first data stream and the second data stream into a combined stream, store the combined stream in the memory, and wirelessly transmit the combined stream to a remote storage and retrieval system.
