Abstract:
A package design system uses a package design file to cause a cutting device to create a package. The file includes comprises a two-dimensional representation of a three-dimensional structure having a plurality of facets having alternative design scenarios that can be selected based on conditions of the cutting and/or folding device that is used to create the package. An example of such a condition is a thickness of a substrate that is being processed by the device. The system creates the file by creating a set of cut and/or fold line definitions. At least one of the cut and/or fold line definitions will be a variable cut/fold line definition. For each identified variable cut/fold line definition, the system identifies one or more alternate parameters for the variable cut/fold line definition, a first cutting/folding scenario that will not use the alternate parameters, and a second cutting/folding scenario that will use the alternate parameters.
Abstract:
A method and system for creating a customized package design. Package design and preference information related to a shape of the package design is received. The preference information includes user-specified information related to one or more levels of one or more structural attributes of the package design. A detailed design is generated that incorporates the user-specified information and a detailed design file is generated and output. Generation of the detailed design includes identifying functional elements associated with the package that correspond to the user-specified information and altering at least one physical characteristic of the identified functional elements based upon the preference information, and incorporating the altered physical characteristic into the detailed design. A determination can be made as to whether the altered detailed design satisfies any constraints associated with the package being design, and the detailed design file can be updated accordingly.
Abstract:
A method, non-transitory computer readable medium and apparatus for transmitting an assessment of facial skin health of a customer are disclosed. For example, the method includes receiving an image of a customer from a mobile endpoint device of the customer, analyzing one or more parameters of a facial skin of the customer in the image of the customer, determining the assessment of facial skin health of the customer based on the one or more parameters of the facial skin that are analyzed and transmitting the assessment of facial skin health to the mobile endpoint device of the customer to cause the mobile endpoint device to automatically display the assessment of facial skin health.
Abstract:
A package generation system allows a user to add an ornamental structure to a package flat by receiving a package design file containing data representing package characteristics. The system uses the package design file to identify a two-dimensional layout of the package. The system identifies: (i) a first area of a substrate that will form a two-dimensional flat of a package; (ii) an unused area of the substrate that will not form part of the package; and (iii) an ornamental structure that is attachable to a facet of the package and which fits within a portion of the unused area adjacent to the facet. The system then outputs a representation of the ornamental structure to a user. Examples of ornamental structures include a ribbon, a detachable coupon, or an ornamental face. The system may create the package after the user selects an offered ornamental structure.

Abstract:
A method and system automatically and dynamically updates the design of perforation lines in a package design file. It identifies an edge between two facets to which a perforation line is to be applied, determines a length of the edge, and uses the length of the edge and a default cut segment length to determine a number of cut segments that will be included in the perforation line. The method and system also may determine a phasing for the perforation line to ensure that the ends of the line are either a cut or spacer, depending on the desired function or placement of the line.
Abstract:
A package generation system creates and/or uses a package design file to determine where to apply cut lines and crease lines to a two-dimensional substrate so that the substrate may be formed into a three-dimensional package. Some of the cut lines may correspond to package edges, and the system dynamically determines where to include bridges in the cut lines to hold the package in place and prevent the package from separating from the substrate before the package creation process is complete.

A method, non-transitory computer readable medium and apparatus for generating an interactive image of facial skin of a user that is displayed via a mobile endpoint device of the user are disclosed. For example, the method includes displaying a guide to position a face of the user, capturing an image of the face of the user, transmitting the image to a facial skin analysis server for analyzing one or more parameters of the facial skin of the user, receiving the interactive image of the face of the user that includes metadata associated with the one or more parameters of the facial skin that were analyzed by the facial skin analysis server, and displaying the interactive image of the face of the user.
