    摘要: Provided is a thin film single pole head for perpendicular magnetic recording, which has a structure offering a high formatted volume, easy servo, difficulty of influencing a recording pattern on a medium, and capability of shortening processing time. This thin film single pole head for perpendicular magnetic recording is formed on a reproducing head composed of a pair of shield layers formed on a substrate, and a reproducing element formed therebetween. A structure is provided, where an auxiliary pole is not disposed between the reproducing element of the reproducing head and the main pole of a recording head when seen from a surface facing to recording media.

    摘要: An information recording method and information recording apparatus is capable of resolving the trade-off relation between recording density and transmittance, wherein either the reproduction (playback) signal quality or the recording sensitivity is lowered. For this purpose, a voltage is applied by way of ball bearings or slip rings to a specified layer of a medium having multiple layers. The light transmittance of the recording layer is changed by application of this voltage. The tradeoff relationship between recording density and transmittance is eliminated thereby, and the recording density and transmittance levels are both improved, so as to enhance the recording reliability.

    摘要: Disclosed herewith is a method for enabling fast and high density recording of information. A voltage is applied to a recording layer formed between a pair of electrodes. The distance between the pair of electrodes is set wider at one of land and groove areas of a subject optical disk and narrower at the other or the distance is set so that light absorption occurs only in either of the land and groove areas. The optical disk is also provided with a layer of which light absorption spectrum changes according to the application of an electric current, thereby absorbing the light. The new layer may be the recording layer itself or a layer adjacent to the recording layer. Because a heat generates only from a small area of the optical disk at the time of recording, the disk can be turned rapidly and permissively to the auto focusing and tracking offsets, thereby enabling fast and high density recording. The disk can thus be formed with easily selectable multiple layers.

    摘要: A magnetic recording medium, a hard disk using the same, and a manufacturing method thereof are provided. In one example, the magnetic nano-particle medium is formed by depositing a magnetic nano-particle colloid on a substrate, wherein the axes of easy magnetization of respective crystalline particles are aligned with high accuracy. A layer of L10 alloy nano-particles which will exhibit magnetic properties through an order-disorder transition, and arranged at a substantially uniform spacing on a substrate, and a carbon-containing covering film for surrounding these nano-particles and making the spacing substantially uniform are provided. To the L10 alloy of the nano-particles, at least one non-magnetic element is added, or a covered layer comprising at least one non-magnetic layer is formed therearound. This makes it possible to implement a magnetic recording medium wherein the average diameter of nano-particles is small, and the nano-particle diameter dispersion is small, and the axes of magnetic anisotropy are aligned.

    摘要: In a discrete track medium and a patterned medium, a meniscus adsorptive force is reduced and writing into adjacent tracks is prevented. A magnetic layer in lands or patterns in the discrete track medium or the patterned medium is formed into a cylindrical shelly or spherical shelly shape with a uniform thickness. Moreover, a height of cylindrical shelly land or a height of spherical shelly land is changed between 5 nm and 30 nm according to radial positions. Thus, an effect is achieved for providing a magnetic recording medium and a magnetic disk apparatus which are excellent in realizing higher recording density and higher reliability.
