Abstract: A display device installed in a vehicle includes a display, a reflectance control device, and a control circuit. The reflectance control device is capable of changing a reflectance for incident light. The control circuit controls the reflectance of the reflectance control device. The reflectance control device includes a first part and a second part. The first part is positioned in a first region overlapping the display surface when viewed in a normal direction being normal to the display surface. The second part is positioned in a second region surrounding the first region when viewed in the normal direction of the display surface. The control circuit controls a reflectance of the second part based on at least one of speed information indicating a speed of the vehicle and reverse information indicating whether the vehicle is reversing.

Abstract: A method and a device are disclosed for activating a function subject to authorization in a vehicle comprising a system of digital rear-view mirrors with at least first and second touch screens, arranged on the driver's and passenger's side, respectively. The method comprises detection, by one of the members, of an action by a person that requires the activation of a function subject to authorization; —transmission, from the member to the system of digital rear-view mirrors, of information relating to the detection; —receipt, from the system of digital rear-view mirrors, of the information relating to the detection originating from the member, —display, on one of the touch screens, of a notification comprising the function subject to authorization, and; an interaction zone suitable for receiving either an agreement or a refusal from the driver and/or the front passenger.

Abstract: A display device includes a housing with an opening; an electro-optic layer that includes a transmissive-reflective layer and configured to vary reflectivity of incident light; a display provided on the electro-optic layer; a control circuit that controls an operation of the display device; and an actuator that switches the electro-optic layer between first and second postures, wherein the control circuit: controls an operation of the display, generates a trimmed image matching a shape of the opening or a shape of the display, outputs the trimmed image to the display, controls the reflectivity of the electro-optic layer when the electro-optic layer is in the second posture, and does not control the reflectivity of the electro-optic layer when the electro-optic layer is in the first posture, and the display is visible to a driver through the electro-optic layer when the control circuit controls the display to display the trimmed image.

Abstract: A monitoring system for an automobile includes at least one illumination source that is configured to project a first illumination type towards a driver location. At least one imaging device is configured to capture the first illumination type at the driver location. A visor assembly includes a stowed position and an articulated position. The visor assembly in the articulated position obscures at least part of the first illumination type from the driver location. An electro-optic device is located in the visor assembly and is configured to switch between a transmissive state and a darkened state. The first illumination type passes through the electro-optic device in the transmissive state and the darkened state, and a second illumination type passes through the electro-optic device in the transmissive state but is blocked in the darkened state.

Abstract: A display device includes a housing, a variable reflectance element, a display to display at least a portion of a rearward image, a display device control circuit, and an actuator to switch the variable reflectance element between first and second postures. In the first posture, the display displays the portion of the rearward image. In the second posture, the display displays the rearward image. In the second posture, the reflectivity of the incident light varies between first and second values of a first and a second illuminance, respectively. The first illuminance indicates brightness around a vehicle and is detected by a sensor. The second illuminance indicates intensity of light emitted on a front surface of the display device and is detected by another sensor. When the display displays at least the portion of the rearward image, the display is visible to a driver through the variable reflectance element.

Each individual micro-LED of the plurality of micro-LEDs, when the vehicular lighting assembly is operated to emit light, passes less than 4 mA electrical current. The vehicular lighting assembly is configured to be disposed at a portion of a vehicle equipped with the vehicular lighting assembly, With the vehicular lighting assembly disposed at the portion of the vehicle, light emitted by the plurality of micro-LEDs, when the vehicular lighting assembly is operated to emit light, is viewable at the portion of the vehicle.

With the vehicular display assembly disposed at the portion of the equipped vehicle, light emitted by the plurality of micro-LEDs, when the vehicular display assembly is operated to emit light, is viewable at the portion of the equipped vehicle.
