    摘要: This application relates to automated processes for assigning item containers, such as boxes, to a location on a shipping container, such as a pallet. For example, a computing device may receive an item assignment request identifying a plurality of item containers, and determines a subset of the plurality of item containers for assigning to a layer of a shipping container. Further, the computing device determines a plurality of positions and a plurality of orientations for each of the subset of the plurality of item containers. The computing device also assigns the subset of the plurality of item containers to the layer of the shipping container based on the plurality of positions and the plurality of orientations. The computing device further generates an item assignment response identifying the assignments of the plurality of item containers, and transits the item assignment response for display.

    摘要: An in-line pattern forming apparatus includes a windowed endless roller conveyor disposed in a longitudinal system path for sequentially receiving sets of articles. A friction shoe shifts the set of articles through the conveyor window to an underlying turntable which is rotatable for selectively reorienting the set, whereupon the lead roller at the end of the window pushes the set off the turntable to a staging support which sequentially receives a plurality of sets to form a pattern. The pattern is then swept as a unit from the staging support to a container loader or other associated apparatus in the system path. Means may be provided for selectively shifting sets of articles on the staging support laterally of the path to facilitate formation of certain patterns.

    摘要: Switches in an electrical control circuit are disposed in the path of bales being loaded by a pair of conveyors, and these switches control the operation of the conveyors such that bales are loaded on a platform and selectively positioned with the leading end of a first bale flush with one end of the platform and the trailing end of a following bale flush with the other end of the platform. Relays and a solenoid-operated valve are also utilized in the electrical control circuit to control operation of the conveyors as well as a pusher mechanism that moves bales in a row laterally when a row has been loaded with their opposite ends flush with the ends of the platform. Since the ends of the bales are flush with the ends of the platform, a stack of bales can be formed with even ends.

    摘要: Apparatus for stacking articles in multiple layers including an upright frame and an elongated horizontal carriage mounted for vertical shifting on the frame. A horizontal slide plate is mounted on the carriage for vertical movement therewith and for horizontal movement longitudinally of the carriage. An elongated, upright, double-acting ram is directly connected to the carriage for raising and lowering the same under power. A horizontal, double-acting ram is connected to the slide plate for moving it from one end of the carriage to the other. An article feeder is operable to load articles onto the slide plate when the plate is lowered and at one end of the carriage. An article turning arm in the feeder is operable to turn selected articles prior to their being fed onto the slide plate. The slide plate, when shifted to the other end of the carriage with articles thereon, positions the articles over an article receiver. With the slide plate and articles positioned over the article receiver, a fence on the carriage is moved into position at the back side of the articles and the slide plate is retracted, whereby the articles are wiped off the slide plate and deposited on the article receiver. Subsequent articles are raised with the carriage and slide plate to positions above the previously deposited articles and are deposited thereon in a similar manner. A sensing device connected to the fluid supply for the upright ram is operable to sense when the slide plate is above the elevation of previously deposited articles and stops the ram when the plate is in proper position for depositing articles on such previously deposited articles.
