    摘要: The invention relates to a telecommunication system provided with resources and with software which controls the individual resources and also the manner in which the resources cooperate mutually at a system level. In accordance with the invention, the software is divided into two parts. The first part, called object logic, comprises a number of object units, each of which represents an individual type of resource. Further, each object unit includes operations for controlling its individual resource. An individual type of resource may be used for a number of different purposes. The second part, called control logic, includes a number of control cases. Each control case, in turn, combines a number of object units in a superordinate fashion, to control the mutual cooperation of corresponding resources irrespective of the manner in which an individual object unit is intended to influence its resource. A control case includes a number of control stages, each of which has only one input, at least a first operation, called control stage operation, and at least one output. The control stages of a control case are mutually connected by links, each of which is designed to connect an output of a preceding control stage with the input of a following control stage. The points at which links are connected to the control stages are called potential connection points to which additional control cases, called control case features, can be connected to the control case in which the control stages are present, called the basic control case, for modification of the basic control case.

    摘要: An arrangement for monitoring operations of advanced intelligent network (AIN) elements of a public switched telephone network by transporting standardized network management messages across a data network. A maintenance and operations console (MOC) sends and receives Simplified Network Management Protocol (SNMP) objects from AIN elements such as an Intelligent Peripheral (IP) via a packet switched network using a standardized transport protocol such as TCP/IP. The IP includes an error monitoring system that collects error messages and generates an error status report. An SNMP agent internal to the IP converts the error status report to SNMP objects outputs the SNMP objects onto the packet switched network. The MOC receives the SNMP objects, assigns an operational priority to the SNMP objects, and displays the operational priority of the received SNMP objects based on object relationships identified by a Management Information Base (MIB). The MOC outputs SNMP objects identifying corrective measures in accordance with user selection inputs and the object relationships identified by the MIB. The MOC of the present invention provides flexible monitoring of AIN elements at different locations based on the use of SNMP object base, and accommodates changes to the AIN based on the received MIB objects.

    摘要: A data storage device includes a CMIP application component which receives data on network objects using the CMIP protocol from the network manager of a main network. For each attribute of each object, a CMIP/SNMP mapper component converts the CMIP object class name, attribute name and distinguished name of the object into the corresponding SNMP attribute value and this data is stored in an MIB. An SNMP application component receives requests for information from a network manager of a local network. In order to service a valid request, the SNMP application component retrieves the required data from MIB and supplies this data to the network manager for the local network using the SNMP protocol. For changes in the values of certain attributes of certain objects, the SNMP application component issues traps to the manager of the local network.
