Abstract: An assembly for isolating and protecting the head and shaft of sprinklers from the surrounding soil, vegetation and external impacts, once it is installed into the ground. The assembly including a tubular chamber having an upper opened end and a lower threaded opening that allows the connection of the sprinkler with the water supply, the dimensions inside the tubular chamber are enough for a user's hand to manipulate the sprinkler shaft. This assembly further includes a retention ring mounted into a shield member that in turn is mounted to the tubular chamber and kept in place by a locking mechanism. The sprinkler shaft is housed inside the tubular chamber while the sprinkler head is protected in a recess defined by the inner lateral wall of the shield and a rubber gasket.

Abstract: An apparatus for applying powder coating material onto large objects such as automotive, truck or other vehicle bodies includes a powder spray booth defining a controlled area within which to apply powder coating material onto the vehicle bodies, a powder kitchen located at a remote position from the powder spray booth, and, a number of feed hoppers located proximate the booth which receive powder coating material from the powder kitchen and supply it to automatically or manually manipulated powder spray guns associated with the booth. Oversprayed powder coating material is removed from the booth interior by a powder collection and recovery system which transmits the oversprayed powder back to the powder kitchen for recirculation to the powder spray guns.

Abstract: A masking material comprises an elongate strip at least partially coated with a layer of a pressure-sensitive adhesive, die strip having a curved surface which is convex when the strip is viewed in cross-section and is positioned such that when the strip is adhered to a substrate by the layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive a portion of the curved surface overhangs the substrate. The masking material comprises a removable edge portion comprising said portion of the curved surface detachably secured to a remainder of the strip and which may be removed to expose a second curved surface on the remainder of the strip which is convex when viewed in cross-section and which is positioned to overhang the substrate. The removable portion and remainder of the strip have different dimensions. Methods for making such masking material are also described.

Abstract: A sealing strip comprising an elongate sealing portion formed of resiliently compressible material such as foam and an elongate attachment portion extending laterally from the sealing portion.
