摘要： A package includes a box and a window member. The box includes a primary panel, internal panels collectively defining a chamber therebetween and adjacent the primary panel, and a face panel extending across the chamber spaced from the primary panel. The at least one of the internal panels defines a slot facing the chamber. The face panel includes a tab extending outwardly from a remainder of the face panel, and the tab is received within the slot to at least partially maintain the face panel within the chamber. The window member includes a first wall covering the chamber and a second wall extending from the first wall and positioned within the chamber. The second wall defines a free edge and a cutout extending from the free edge into the second wall. The cutout is slidably receives the tab of the face panel securely coupling the window member to the box.

摘要： A hanging display box with a carrying handle is made from a folding cardboard sheet. The cardboard sheet includes a display panel with a window, a substantially transparent plastic material covering the window and having flaps extending substantially beyond the display panel. A top wall attached to the display panel is connected to a hanger panel with an opening, and a bottom wall attached to the display panel is connected to a rear panel also having an opening, so that when the rear panel is folded adjacent the hanger panel, the openings align to form the carrying handle. Side walls attached to the display panel releasably fix the plastic material against the window such that, when the box is opened, the plastic material and cardboard are easily separated and recycled.

摘要： The apparatus applies a transverse zipper strip to a film (10) moving continuously in a direction (12). A continuous belt (18) is driven by sprocket wheels (16a, 16b) and carries upper seal bars (22a, 22b, 22c) which receive pre-cut lengths of zipper at station (3). The pre-cut lengths are attached to the film (10) by a lower seal bar (24) which moves towards the film (12) at position A when an upper seal bar carrying a zipper strip is located directly above the film. Sealing takes place as the upper and lower seal bars move at the same speed as the film (12) from position A to position B where the zipper is released from the upper seal bar (22c). The process then repeats for the next zipper strip length.

摘要： A technique for adhering individual patches of substrate material to spaced-apart regions of a moving web layer comprises a transporting mechanism for moving the web layer and a supplying mechanism for providing a selected substrate material. An applicating mechanism deposits a selected coating of hotmelt adhesive onto the substrate material, and a regulating mechanism automatically maintains a selected cross-directional registry between the substrate material and the deposited coating of adhesive. The coated substrate is cooled, and a directing mechanism engages the coated substrate to feed it to a separating mechanism at a selected rate. The separating mechanism segments the coated substrate into individual patches. A phasing mechanism provides a selected spatial segregation between the individual patches, and an assemblying mechanism adhesively secures the segregated patches onto selected spaced regions of the moving web layer. An indexing mechanism selectively displaces the coated substrate material from the separating mechanism when the directing mechanism is disengaged from the substrate material.

摘要： An apparatus and method is disclosed for forming a liquid-tight container having a rectangular cross-section formed from a one-piece, T-shaped blank of paperboard material. The carton preferably includes an access flap and straw element on one side thereof which, when manually lifted, exposes an end of the straw element from which the contents of the carton may be consumed by a user. The apparatus is compact in nature, possessing relatively few transport mechanisms which advance the T-shaped carton blank through a plurality of work stations. A novel method and apparatus for serially applying the straw element and access panel to the carton blank is disclosed, wherein the straw element and a length of polyethylene coated Mylar tape is automatically bonded to the carton blank upon a rotating heat sealing and alignment drum. A conveyor for collating a plural number of the carton blanks about a forming mandrel is also provided, and is positioned transversely to the remainder of the apparatus thereby significantly reducing the overall size of the apparatus. An ultrasonic welder bonds the side seams and end closure panels of the container upon a rotating crossbar mandrel which eliminates any misalignment during the sealing process. A substantially rigid conveyor transport carries a plurality of the carton blanks through pre-form, filler, and end closure work stations, and includes plural anvils for the ultrasonic welding process. An ejector mechanism is additionally provided which ejects the filled carton blanks from the rigid conveyor along a dual direction path, thereby eliminating the possiblity of creasing or puncturing the filled and sealed container. The apparatus of the present invention additionally accommodates the production of differing size containers with only minor adjustments.

摘要： A continuous strip or web of patch material is unwound from a reel by means of a pair of pull rolls. The patch material is conveyed to adhesive applying apparatus where adhesive is applied to preselected portions of one surface of the web. The web of patch material having the adhesive applied to selective portions of one surface is engaged by a vacuum roll by suction. The vacuum roll has patch severing apparatus that cuts preselected lengths of the web to form window patches having adhesive applied to selected portions of one surface. Envelope blanks are conveyed through a panel cutter mechanism where one or more windows are formed in the envelope blank at desired locations. The envelope blanks are conveyed with the inner surface facing outwardly by means of a plurality of transfer rolls. One of the transfer rolls is in abutting relation with the vacuum roll and the envelope blank is transferred to the vacuum roll from the transfer roll and is engaged to the transfer roll with one of the windows in the envelope blank in overlying relation with a patch on the vacuum roll. The vacuum roll and adjacent transfer roll exert a compressive force on the envelope blank and patch to adhesively secure the patch to the envelope blank. The envelope blank with one window patch secured thereto is thereafter conveyed by means of the vacuum roll to another transfer roll and where desired, to other patch applicator apparatus where adhesive is applied to the surface of the envelope blank around the periphery of the window. A patch severed from a second web is positioned in overlying relation therewith and adhesively secured to the envelope blank to thus provide an envelope blank with a plurality of window patches secured thereto.
