    摘要： A mailer for use with computer printing techniques. The mailer utilizes die-cut window envelopes provided with a transparent window web an undersurface of which is coated with a chemical composition. A sheet contained in the envelope and visible through the window is coated on its surface presented to the window with a second, different chemical composition. The coating compositions are characterized in that impression of impact printing forces against the window web and applied therethrough to the underlying coated sheet produces impact-pattern-correlated visual imprints on the envelope-housed sheet, the imprints being clearly viewable through the transparent web of the envelope window.

    摘要： A composite mailing wrapper suitable for use with a catalog or magazine is produced from an integral web and comprises front and rear cover sheets joined along a longitudinal fold line to which is detachably connected at least one preformed reply envelope, and optionally, at least one response device which is detachably connected to the envelope flap(s). When assembled to the catalog the envelope(s) and optional response device(s) are contained within the fold of the cover sheets. All of the elements comprising the composite wrapper can be personalized without risk of mismatching as they are produced from an integral web and are not detached from each other during manufacture.

    摘要： The disclosure herein describes an attachment to be added to a machine which normally forms open-side envelopes and thereby converts it to one capable of forming open-end envelopes. The attachment consists of a gum applicating assembly adapted to be removably supported on a frame which is secured over the machine just prior to the scoring section thereof; this gum applicating assembly consists of a series of rollers cooperating to transfer gum, collected from a gum recipient, to the scoring roller of the machine where it is applied on an envelope blank being conveyed below the scoring roller. The envelope blank is subsequently folded in the folding section of the machine in the usual manner to form an open-end envelope.

    摘要： An attachment for converting a conventional nonwindow envelope machine into one in which a web of patching material is partially severed for providing either a window transparency or a liner for an envelope forming individual patches, said patches being gummed for attachment to the interior of an envelope blank and the partially severed web fed to the circumference or filler plate of a rotating vacuum cylinder where the individual gummed patches are completely severed and each carried into contact with and affixed to an envelope blank, the cylinder having multiple scoring blades for providing the envelope blanks with score lines for subsequent folding of its flaps to complete the envelope.
