摘要： A hand operated sewing machine with opposing loop seizing points for forming chain stitches. A work feeding plate reciprocates with a plate member about a pivot. A flexible upstanding portion at one end of an arm is biassed by the moving plate member causing the other arm end to bias a cam affixed to the loop seizing points. This bias determines the cam path taken by a drive pin that provides motion to the loop seizing points.

摘要： Turned edge fabric appliqués are produced using a first template whose perimeter corresponds to a desired shape of a finished appliqué of certain size, and a second template having a corresponding opening so that the perimeter of the first template fits in the opening with a determined gap between the templates. The perimeter of the second template corresponds to an appliqué of the desired shape but a size larger than said certain size, and the second template fits in a corresponding opening in a third template to obtain the appliqué of larger size. A fabric piece is placed by the first template into the opening in the second template, and an exposed edge of the piece projects through the gap above the first template to define a seam allowance which is ironed atop the first template. The template is then withdrawn from the opening and from the ironed seam allowance.

摘要： A miniature electric sewing machine includes a shaft support bracket mounted on one side of a casing, a rotatable shaft supported on the shaft support bracket for rotation so as to extend in parallel with the side surface of the casing, a spindle support arm fixed to the rotatable shaft, and a bobbin winder spindle fixed to a distal end of the spindle support arm so as to extend in parallel with the rotatable shaft. The spindle support arm has a length of 35 mm or more. The spindle support arm fixed to the rotatable shaft assumes a position where it is normal to the side face of the casing or another position where the bobbin winder spindle fixed to the distal end of the arm is directed obliquely downwardly. A stopper is formed on the spindle support arm to be abutted against the side face of the casing when the arm is normal to the casing side face, preventing further upward rotating movement of the arm from the normal position. A large diameter bobbin is loosely fitted onto the bobbin winder spindle and subsequently, a rubber ring is attached to the spindle for preventing the bobbin from falling off.
