The locking assembly includes a locking pin having a pin capable of securing the wear member to the support structure. The pin is disclosed as including pin portions that are interconnected through a coupling to allow torque to be transferred from at least one pin portion to the other pin portion and allow axial movement of one of the pin portions relative to the other pin portion in the direction of the pin axis. Also disclosed is a locking assembly to retain a pin in a predetermined position.

    摘要: There is described a securing device (10) for releasably securing a first object to a second objection. The device comprises a casing (12) and a coupling magnet (22) housed in the casing. The casing is configured for being inserted in a passageway formed by aligned openings (54, 60) of the first and second objects when assembled together, for blocking separation of the first object and the second object from one another. The coupling magnet (22) is moveable from an initial position to a working position to form a magnetic coupling for holding the casing in the passageway. The first and second objects can respectively be a tooth (50) of a mining or excavation bucket and an adaptor (52) of the bucket for the tooth (50). A fixed magnet (28) can be provided in the casing (12), the fixed magnet (28) being oppositely poled with respect to the coupling magnet (22) for damping the movement of the coupling magnet to its working position. There is also provided a removal tool (178) for removal of the securing device from its securing position. The removal tool includes a coupling magnet (180) for being moved from a retracted position to a coupling position for magnetically coupling with the securing device (10) for releasing the coupling magnet (22) of the securing device from its working position and withdrawal of the securing device.

    摘要: There is described a securing device (300) for releasably securing a first object to a second object, the device comprising a casing (12) having a top end (304) and a bottom end (310), and at least one magnet (22) housed within the casing. The casing is configured for being inserted in a passageway formed by aligned openings of the first and second objects when assembled together whereby the casing blocks separation of the first object and the second object from one another. The magnet is automatically movable along the casing (12) to a working position from an initial position within the casing by magnetic attraction to form a magnetic coupling for holding the casing in position when the casing is located in the passageway formed by the aligned openings of the first and second objects. A peripheral wall of the casing (12) surrounds the magnet and the magnet is retained captive within the casing so as to be restricted to movement between the initial and working positions of the magnet, the casing being of a magnetically attracted material. In embodiments of the disclosure, the magnet (22) is radially distanced from the casing by an essentially non-magnetically attracted material (302, 302a, 302b), and the magnet is typically arranged for returning to its initial position upon being withdrawn from the magnetic coupling to allow for removal of the casing from the passageway and thereby separation of the first and second objects. The securing device has particular application to securing machinery components together and in particular, ground engagement components. Methods for use of the securing device are also described.

    摘要: A wear assembly such as an adapter for a cable shovel having a Whisler-style lip has two legs extending over the lip, and a hole in the legs arranged to align with a hole in the lip. A locking member is inserted in the hole, and hooked around a pivot surface in the lower leg. An actuator is inserted into the hole in the upper leg, and engages with t top end of the locking member. Movement of the actuator causes pivoting of the locking member, and results in the locking member bearing against the lip hole in order to lock the wear assembly in position.
