    Abstract: A method for unlocking a door for an authorized user of a vehicle via a door unlocking system of the vehicle includes providing a control at the vehicle, providing a near field communication device at the vehicle, and wirelessly communicating, via the near field communication device of the vehicle, with a near field communication-enabled smartphone when the smartphone is within a threshold distance from the vehicle. Responsive to the near field communication device of the vehicle communicating with the smartphone, it is determined whether or not the smartphone is an authorized device. The smartphone is authenticated as an authorized device for communication with the near field communication device of the equipped vehicle. Responsive to the smartphone being authenticated as an authorized device, the locking mechanism is actuated, at least in part via the control, to unlock the vehicle door for the user of the authorized device.

    Abstract: An interior rearview mirror system for a vehicle includes an interior rearview mirror assembly having a mirror head with a mirror reflective element. The mirror reflective element includes a transflective mirror reflector. A video display screen is disposed behind the mirror reflective element and is operable for displaying video images viewable through the transflective mirror reflector of the mirror reflective element. When not operated to display video images, the presence of the video display screen behind the mirror reflective element is rendered covert by the transflective mirror reflector. The interior rearview mirror assembly includes a mechanism operable to change the orientation of the mirror reflective element relative to the vehicle driver. The mechanism operates to flip the orientation of the mirror reflective element between a first position that is tilted towards the vehicle driver and a second position that is tilted away from the vehicle driver.

    Abstract: A rear slider window assembly for a vehicle includes a movable window panel that is movable along channels of a fixed window panel via guide pins. A first guide pin moves along a first channel, which as a slot established therealong and therethrough. An electrical connector electrically connects electrical terminals at the fixed window panel to electrical terminals at the movable window panel, and includes a pin follower that extends through the slot of the first channel to electrically connect to a flexible cable connected to terminals at the fixed window panel and to electrical terminals at the movable window panel. The lower rail may include a water drainage element including (i) a hole established through the lower rail and (ii) a drainage receiving conduit attached at the fixed window panel beneath the hole of the lower rail and spaced from the lower rail.

    Abstract: A vision system for a vehicle includes an interior rearview mirror assembly disposed at an interior surface of the vehicle and having a mirror head and a reflective element. The mirror head is adjustably mounted at a mirror mount that attaches at the interior surface of the vehicle and is adjustable to adjust a rearward view of a driver of the vehicle viewing said reflective element. A display device is disposed at an interior portion of the vehicle remote from the interior rearview mirror assembly. The mirror head is adjustable between a mirror mode orientation, where the driver of the vehicle views rearward of the vehicle via the reflective element, and a display mode orientation, where the driver of the vehicle views images displayed by the display device via the reflective element.

    Abstract: An interior rearview mirror assembly for a vehicle includes a mirror head having a mirror reflective element, and a video display device behind the mirror reflective element and viewable through the mirror reflective element when activated. The video display device includes a display screen that occupies at least 75 percent of a reflective region of the mirror reflective element. The video display device includes a backlighting array of light emitting diodes for backlighting the display screen, and the backlighting array of light emitting diodes includes a plurality of zones of light emitting diodes, with each zone having at least two light emitting diodes. The zones of light emitting diodes are independently controlled based on the video images being displayed by the video display device.

    Abstract: A rearview vision system for a vehicle includes a reflective element disposed at a driver or passenger side portion of a vehicle and a camera disposed at or near the reflective element and having a field of view that encompasses at least a portion of the reflective element. The camera and the reflective element are disposed at the side portion of the vehicle so that images of the scene occurring to the side and rear of the vehicle are reflected off of the reflective element and viewed by the camera. The camera captures image data for display of images by a display device that is viewable by a driver of the vehicle when normally operating the vehicle so as to provide the driver with a generally sideward and rearward field of view.

    Abstract: A mirror reflective element sub-assembly for a vehicular exterior rearview mirror assembly includes a mirror reflective element, a mirror back plate, and a blind zone indication module. The module includes a housing, a circuit board and a light source and is disposed at an aperture formed through the back plate. The circuit board includes circuitry and electrically conductive terminals in electrical connection with circuitry of the circuit board. The electrically conductive terminals extend into a connector portion of the housing. The connector portion is configured to connect to a connector of a wire harness of the exterior rearview mirror assembly. The circuit board may include a constant current circuit that provides a constant current output to the light source over a range of supply voltages provided by a power source of the vehicle. The mirror back plate may include structure at least partially circumscribing the aperture for receiving the module.
