摘要: Infusion devices, systems and related methods of autonomously delivering fluid to a patient are disclosed. One method involves monitoring a current operational context during autonomous operation of the infusion device to deliver fluid to a patient in accordance with an operating mode using an initial value for a control parameter, and in response to identifying an adjusted value for the control parameter associated with the current operational context, autonomously operating the infusion device to deliver the fluid to the patient in accordance with the operating mode using the adjusted value for the control parameter in lieu of the initial value and thereafter reverting the control parameter to the initial value.

摘要: Methods and systems are provided for configuring therapy settings of a medical device for a specific patient. Patient data input via a non-medical device can be received. A value of a total daily dose of insulin for the specific patient can be obtained from the patient data. Based upon the value of the total daily dose, a set of therapy settings for the specific patient can be computed. The medical device can be automatically programmed with the set of therapy settings to complete set up of the medical device so that the medical device is configured for the specific patient.

摘要: Disclosed herein are techniques related to determination of adjustments to fluid delivery settings. In some embodiments, the techniques may involve accessing insulin delivery data for a user of an insulin delivery device. The insulin delivery data may be indicative of an amount of insulin delivered by the insulin delivery device to the user during a time period. The techniques may also involve analyzing the insulin delivery data to generate an updated insulin sensitivity factor (ISF) value. The techniques may further involve generating, based on the updated ISF value, a recommendation to adjust an ISF value of the insulin delivery device. Additionally, the techniques may involve causing adjustment of the ISF value to the updated ISF value in accordance with the recommendation.

摘要: A continuous glucose monitoring system may include a hand-held monitor, a transmitter, an insulin pump, and an orthogonally redundant glucose sensor, which may comprise an optical glucose sensor and a non-optical glucose sensor. The former may be a fiber optical sensor, including a competitive glucose binding affinity assay with a glucose analog and a fluorophore-labeled glucose receptor, which is interrogated by an optical interrogating system, e.g., a stacked planar integrated optical system. The non-optical sensor may be an electrochemical sensor having a plurality of electrodes distributed along the length thereof. Proximal portions of the optical and electrochemical sensors may be housed inside the transmitter and operationally coupled with instrumentation for, e.g., receiving signals from the sensors, converting to respective glucose values, and communicating the glucose values. The sensors' distal portions may be inserted into a user's body via a single delivery needle and may be co-located inside the user's body.

摘要: Infusion systems, infusion devices, and related operating methods are provided. A method of operating an infusion device involves obtaining an input qualitative event attribute, such as a meal size, obtaining a quantitative event attribute associated with the qualitative event attribute that is representative of a subset of historical events for a patient associated with the qualitative event attribute, such as a representative carbohydrate amount for the qualitative meal size, and thereafter determine a dosage of fluid based at least in part on the quantitative event attribute and operate the infusion device to deliver the dosage of the fluid to the patient.

摘要: A method and system are provided for authorizing a first device to communicate with a second device. One of the first device and the second device is a particular medical device for a patient, and the other one of the first device and the second device is a particular non-medical device associated with the patient. Prior to the second device being authorized to communicate with the first device, first identification information that identifies the second device can be provided to the first device via a cloud-based computing system. When the second device is prepared for use, it can broadcast second identification information. When the first device determines that the second identification information corresponds to the first identification information stored at the first device, the first device can automatically establish a secure communication link with the second device and the first device.

摘要: A method and apparatus for a connection interface between a reservoir or syringe, infusion set tubing, and an infusion pump is provided. The reservoir, a base and a cap are connected to form an integrated unit that is capable of being inserted and secured in an infusion pump housing. The cap and the infusion pump are each provided with at least one sensor or at least one detectable feature, arranged to interact with at least one corresponding detectable feature or sensor on the other of the cap and infusion pump device, to detect one or more of the presence, position or other characteristic of the cap when the cap is aligned or coupled with the infusion pump housing. The detectable feature and sensor may be magnetic, RF, mechanical, optical or any combination.
