摘要: Techniques related to automatically generating a super bolus may include determining an amount of an augmented meal bolus to be delivered to a patient for regulating the patient's glycemic response to a meal. The amount of the augmented meal bolus may exceed a sufficient amount for counteracting a glucose level increase caused by the meal. In some embodiments, the techniques may further include determining a duration of a postprandial reduction period during which basal dosage deliveries to the patient are to be reduced. In some other embodiments, the techniques may further include delivering the augmented meal bolus to the patient prior to determining whether or not to cause reduction of basal dosage deliveries. More specifically, a glucose level of the patient may be obtained after delivery of the augmented meal bolus, and the obtained glucose level may be used to determine whether to reduce basal dosage deliveries.

摘要: Devices, systems, and techniques for guiding therapy delivery to a diabetes patient is described. Some devices, systems, and techniques proactively monitor the patient's food consumption and (if needed) adapt the patient's diabetes therapy accordingly. In one example, a system comprises one or more sensors configured to capture a representation of the object, and processing circuitry configured to determine data corresponding to the representation of the object, wherein the data comprises information identifying the object as a particular food item; generate food item information based on the information identifying the object as the particular food item, wherein the food item information comprises at least one of nutrition information or volume information of the particular food item, generate therapy information for the patient based on the food item information, and output content indicative of at least one of the therapy information or the food item information.

摘要: Disclosed are techniques related to determination of adjustments to fluid delivery settings. The techniques may involve accessing an input meal size category, where the input meal size category is selected from among a plurality of meal size categories via a user interface; accessing a plurality of groups of historical meal events for a person, where each group of the plurality of groups is associated with a respective meal size category of the plurality of meal size categories and includes respective historical meal events for the person categorized in the respective meal size category; identifying a group, in the plurality of groups of historical meal events for the person, having ane associated meal size category that matches the input meal size category; identifying a person-specific carbohydrate amount representative of the historical meal events in the identified group; and determining a bolus dosage value of insulin based on the person-specific carbohydrate amount.

摘要: Disclosed is a method of controlling operation of a medical device that regulates delivery of a fluid medication to a user. The method obtains a current sensor-generated value that is indicative of a physiological characteristic of the user, and is produced in response to operation of a continuous analyte sensor device. The method continues by: calculating a sensor quality metric that indicates reliability and trustworthiness of the current sensor-generated value; adjusting, in response to the calculated sensor quality metric, therapy actions of the medical device to configure a quality-specific operating mode of the medical device; managing generation of user alerts at the medical device in response to the calculated sensor quality metric; and regulating delivery of the fluid medication from the medical device, in accordance with the current sensor-generated value and the quality-specific operating mode of the medical device.

摘要: Medical devices and related systems and operating methods are provided. A method of operating an infusion device capable of delivering fluid influencing a physiological condition to a patient involves obtaining an event indication, such as a meal indication, determining an initial bolus amount based on the event indication, and determining predicted values for the physiological condition of the patient during a time window into the future based at least in part on the initial bolus amount. When the predicted values violate a threshold during the time window, the control system identifies an adjusted bolus amount that results in the predicted values for the physiological condition satisfying the threshold during the time window from within a search space defined by the initial bolus amount and operates an actuation arrangement of the infusion device to deliver the adjusted bolus amount of the fluid to the patient.
