摘要: A computer-readable medium has tangibly embodied thereon and accessible therefrom a set of instructions interpretable by at least one data processing device. The set of instructions is configured for causing the at least one data processing device to carry out operations for estimating a delay for each one of a plurality of packets of a VOIP traffic flow and for allocating a delay budget for each one of the packets dependent upon the estimated delay thereof. Such estimating is performed at a fixed location between end locations of a path over which the packets traverse and is performed using packet timestamp information acquired from the packets only at the fixed location.

摘要: An apparatus includes a first node configured to receive the data packets from a plurality of source nodes of the data network and to selectively route some of the received data packets to a link via a port of the first node. The apparatus also includes a link-input buffer that is located in the first node and is configured to store the some of the received data packets for transmission to the link via the port. The first node is configured to power off hardware for transmitting received data packets to the link in response to a fill level of the link-input buffer being below a threshold.

摘要: A method and an apparatus for processing an optical signal are disclosed wherein an input optical signal having an amplitude profile is combined by means of Bragg scattering with a first pulsed pump signal having a first waveshape and a second pulsed pump signal having a second waveshape. The combined optical signal is input in a nonlinear optical material for frequency converting the input optical signal thereby obtaining an idler signal wherein the first pulsed pump signal co-propagates with the input optical signal and the second pulsed pump signal co-propagates with the idler signal. The idler signal produced has a peak amplitude proportional to the peak amplitude of the input optical signal and a shape corresponding to the second pump waveshape.

摘要: An apparatus comprising a Mache-Zehnder interferometer. The Mache-Zehnder interferometer comprises: a 1×2 optical splitter having an optical input, a 2×2 optical coupler having first and second optical outputs, two optical waveguide arms end-connecting each optical output of the 1×2 optical splitter to a corresponding optical input of the 2×2 optical coupler, a variable optical phase shifter on one of the waveguide arms and a plurality of optical resonators, each optical resonator being controllably coupled along one of the optical waveguide arms. An optical path length between the optical input of the 1×2 optical coupler and the first optical output of the 2×2 optical coupler is substantially the same via the first optical waveguide arm and the second optical waveguide arm when the optical resonators are decoupled from the optical waveguide arms.

The disks are rotatably located over the substrate, each disk having an outer circumference with teeth thereon. The first disk is positioned to interleave one or more of its teeth with the teeth of the second disk. The substrate includes a channel with an exit port located near the teeth of one of the disks. Another apparatus comprises at least one disk rotatably located over a substrate and in a well of the substrate, the disk having an outer circumference with teeth thereon. The disk is positioned to provide a maximum distance of less than about 10 microns between each one the teeth and a nearest wall defining the well. The substrate includes a channel with an exit port located near the teeth of the disk.
