    摘要: A self-inflating personal flotation device (“SIPFD”) configured to be worn by a wearer and aid the wearer automatically. The SIPFD may communicate with a global communication network and pressurized gas cartridge assembly based on a triggering event. The SIPFD may have a wearable data transmitter of a heartbeat device; a water depth device; and a geolocation device. The SIPFD may have a neck inflation device and a torso inflation device both connected to the pressurized gas cartridge assembly to enable the pressurized gas cartridge to inflate the neck and torso inflation devices when prompted. The prompt may be automatic or on request and be performed using an actuator mechanically communicating with the pressurized gas cartridge assembly to: (i) inflate the neck and torso inflation devices; and (ii) deflate the neck and torso inflation devices associated with a wearer.

    摘要: Aspects of the invention disclosed herein generally provide a heat engine system, a turbopump system, and methods for lubricating a turbopump while generating energy. The systems and methods provide proper lubrication and cooling to turbomachinery components by controlling pressures applied to a thrust bearing in the turbopump. The applied pressure on the thrust bearing may be controlled by a turbopump back-pressure regulator valve adjusted to maintain proper pressures within bearing pockets disposed on two opposing surfaces of the thrust bearing. Pocket pressure ratios, such as a turbine-side pocket pressure ratio (P1) and a pump-side pocket pressure ratio (P2), may be monitored and adjusted by a process control system. In order to prevent damage to the thrust bearing, the systems and methods may utilize advanced control theory of sliding mode, the multi-variables of the pocket pressure ratios P1 and P2, and regulating the bearing fluid to maintain a supercritical state.

    摘要: The present disclosure provides an effective solution to employ hyperscale photonics connectivity using existing server connections. The solution described in the present disclosure eliminates top-of-rack switches and facilitates a manner for servers to connect directly to middle-of-row switches. An apparatus consistent with the present disclosure includes a primary transceiver device. The primary server-end transceiver device comprising a photonics transceiver and a first electrical transmitter. The apparatus further includes a first secondary server-end transceiver device, the first secondary server-end transceiver device comprising a second electrical transmitter. In addition, a first electrical cable electrically couples the primary server-end transceiver to the first secondary server-end transceiver device. The present disclosure enables the use of an input fiber connection and a photonics transceiver to effect two sets of electrical connections on different servers.

A vapor cooling system receives the substantially cleaned vapor and using controlled pressure and controlled temperature, cools the substantially cleaned vapor to at least one hydrocarbon liquid and a gas, forming a hydrocarbon liquid for transfer to another device and/or using the gas as a fuel.

    摘要: According to certain embodiments, a method is performed using a self-elevating vessel having at least one preload tank and a plurality of movable support legs each with a spudcan affixed at the base. The method comprises locating the self-elevating vessel at a first ocean environment, lowering the legs to a surface of a seafloor with a first bearing pressure requirement, and filling the at least one preload tank to a first volume that is sufficient to drive the footings into the seafloor. The first volume is different than a second volume that is a volume sufficient to drive the footings into a seafloor of a second ocean environment that has a different bearing pressure requirement than the seafloor of the first ocean environment. The preload tank is sized to have a volume capacity based on the greater bearing pressure requirement between the first and the second ocean environment.
