Abstract:
An injector control system for a coiled tubing unit includes a programmable logic controller arranged to receive a signal related to sensed parameters of a coiled tubing injection operation; a traction pressure control hydraulic circuit operable to adjust hydraulic pressure provided to at least one traction cylinder in a coiled tubing injection head; a motor pressure control hydraulic circuit operable to adjust hydraulic pressure provided to at least one motor of the coiled tubing injection head; and at least one of the traction pressure control hydraulic circuit and the motor pressure control hydraulic circuit including a proportional control valve in receipt of a variable electrical signal from the programmable logic controller. The programmable logic controller adjusts the signal delivered to the proportional control valve throughout the coiled tubing injection operation as dictated by the sensed parameters.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are described for determining eye position and/or for determining eye movement based on glints. An exemplary computer-implemented method involves: (a) causing a camera that is attached to a head-mounted display (HMD) to record a video of the eye; (b) while the video of the eye is being recorded, causing a plurality of light sources that are attached to the HMD and generally directed towards the eye to switch on and off according to a predetermined pattern, wherein the predetermined pattern is such that at least two of the light sources are switched on at any given time while the video of the eye is being recorded; (c) analyzing the video of the eye to detect controlled glints that correspond to the plurality of light sources; and (d) determining a measure of eye position based on the controlled glints.
Abstract:
Systems and methods are described for improving gaze estimation based on glints. An example method may be executable to receive glint-location data indicating a location for each of one or more glints that are reflected from an eye. The glint-location data may be captured by an imaging device that is attached to a head-mountable display (HMD). The method may be further executable to determine a plurality of normalized pupil locations comprising at least a first and a second normalized pupil location. Each normalized pupil location may be determined based on the glint-location data for a different combinatoric subset of the one or more glints. The method may be further executable to determine a regression model to fit the plurality of normalized pupil locations to an expected gaze location, and perform a gaze-tracking process based on the regression model.
Abstract:
A system and method is provided for automatically recognizing building numbers in street level images. In one aspect, a processor selects a street level image that is likely to be near an address of interest. The processor identifies those portions of the image that are visually similar to street numbers, and then extracts the numeric values of the characters displayed in such portions. If an extracted value corresponds with the building number of the address of interest such as being substantially equal to the address of interest, the extracted value and the image portion are displayed to a human operator. The human operator confirms, by looking at the image portion, whether the image portion appears to be a building number that matches the extracted value. If so, the processor stores a value that associates that building number with the street level image.
Abstract:
Embodiments of this invention relate to detecting and blurring images. In an embodiment, a system detects objects in a photographic image. The system includes an object detector module configured to detect regions of the photographic image that include objects of a particular type at least based on the content of the photographic image. The system further includes a false positive detector module configured to determine whether each region detected by the object detector module includes an object of the particular type at least based on information about the context in which the photographic image was taken.
Abstract:
A method to mass produce and sell electronic devices using open architecture manufacturing model and group-buying business model is provided. A group-buying company receives a plurality of offers to buy electronic devices from a plurality of consumers, and each offer is associated with a minimum requirement for each corresponding electronic device. The group-buying company determines one or more final device configurations of a plurality of electronic devices that satisfies the minimum requirements of all the offers, and all the electronic devices are substantially identical to be sold to the plurality of consumers as a group-buying deal. The group-buying company then arranges a single run of the identical electronic devices to be mass produced by a third entity. Finally, the group-buying company supplies the identical electronic devices to each of the plurality of consumers.
Abstract:
Substituted oxazoline compounds and/or substituted oxazoline derivatives having amorphous, semi-crystalline, or crystalline properties and methods for producing such compounds and derivatives are presented. The substituted oxazoline compounds and/or substituted oxazoline derivatives are useful for various applications. For example, the substituted oxazoline compounds and/or substituted oxazoline derivatives may function as phase-change agents, a binder resins, rheology modifiers or plasticizers for ink compositions.
Abstract:
A system and method of providing online location-based time-sensitive deals are proposed. An online retailer accepts an instant deal submitted by a merchant. The instant deal is a discounted service provided by the merchant at a geographic location. The instant deal is approved only if the merchant is qualified and if the deal is qualified based on a set of pre-configured rules. The online retailer advertises a deal coupon for the discounted service during a limited time for a limited quantity to consumers located near the geographic location. In one example, the geographic location is defined by a business district or a landmark. When a buyer places a purchase order, the deal coupon is delivered to the buyer. The deal coupon is redeemable during a limited time without additional reservation. If the buyer does not redeem the coupon within the limited time, the purchase amount is automatically refunded.
Abstract:
Computer-implemented methods, systems and devices facilitating the methods, and computer-readable medium storing computer readable code, which, when executed, performs the methods are provided for coupon verification. The methods include receiving from a coupon verification terminal via a mobile network a verification data package based on at least an additional verification information and a verification code of a coupon, verifying whether or not the coupon is valid and has not been redeemed, and sending the verification result via the mobile network to the coupon verification terminal. The coupon verification terminal comprises an input module, a CPU configured to provide the additional verification information and to generate the verification data package by encrypting the additional verification information and the verification code, and a mobile communication module configured to, via a mobile network, send the verification data package to a verification server and receive a verification result from the verification server.
Abstract:
An image document processing device extracts a character sequence image having M number of characters in an image document, divides the image into individual character images, extracts features of the individual character images, and based on the features, selects N (N is an integer more than 1) character images in the order of degree of matching from a font-feature dictionary for storing features of all character images according to fonts, and generates an M×N index matrix for the extracted character sequence. In searching, the device searches an index-information storage section with respect to each search character included in a search keyword in an input search expression, and extracts an image document including an index matrix including the search keyword. This provides an image document processing device and an image document processing method each allowing indexing not requiring user's operation and each allowing highly precise searching without OCR recognition.
