摘要: A method for placing an edge piece on a battery plate includes bending a thin strip of bendable plastic material into an open top, U-shaped channel. The channel is then cut into an edge piece having a length which is substantially equal to the edge of the battery plate which is to be covered. The edge piece is supported with this open top oriented towards a battery plate that is transported toward it in a manner such that the battery plate edge will be inserted into it. Once the edge of the battery plate has been inserted into the edge piece the edge piece is released so that the battery plate can be carried out of the apparatus. An apparatus for accomplishing this includes a feed mechanism which transports the strip of bendable plastic material. A bending mechanism forms this strip into the open top, U-shaped channel. The channel is then fully inserted into an assembly station where a first sensor stops the feed mechanism and a cutter cuts the channel into the proper-sized edge piece. An in-feed conveyor transports a battery plate toward the edge piece, and a support mechanism supports the edge piece while the edge of the battery plate is inserted into it. The support mechanism then releases the edge piece so that it can travel out of the insertion station with the battery plate. A second sensor restarts the feed mechanism once the battery plate is completely out of the assembly station.

摘要: An inkjet printhead assembly (50) for an inkjet printer having a printhead (10) with a plurality of nozzles (24) and data path and control electronics circuitry (56) operably coupled with the printhead (10) for providing image data that control the flow of ink through the nozzles (24). The nozzles (24) are arranged in sections with at least two heater elements, an upper heater (28a) and a lower heater (28b), predisposed about each nozzle (24), the heater elements configured to actuate a nozzle (24) for printing. The data path and control electronics circuitry (56) comprises a plurality of shift registers (100, 102) configured to drive the nozzles, causing them to deliver ink in the direction of a receiver media, such as paper. Interconnections (54) between the data path and control electronics circuitry (56) and printhead (10) include DATA, CLOCK, LATCH and ENABLE lines which are used to operate the printhead (10) and, in turn, the nozzles (24) via the shift register stages (100, 102). The number of interconnections are minimized by interleaving data to the shift registers between upper and lower heater elements of the printhead (10) or by interleaving the data on the DATA line to the shift register stages (104, 106) for the upper and lower heater elements.

摘要: An improvement to contacts for automatic test apparatus used in the testing of semiconductors. At least two contacts with first and second ends for engaging test points of a device under test (DUT) extend the first end different distances toward the DUT. The test apparatus is arranged to support and carry a DUT at a predetermined rate toward the two contacts. The contact with the greatest first end extension, which contacts the DUT first, has the second end connected to ground and the other contact has the second end connected to a test voltage. Each first and second end of said contacts have support means arranged to permit the ends to deflect a predetermined distance under a predetermined force. This permits the apparatus to engage both ends of both contacts at predetermined contact forces. A plurality of sets of contacts with a given extension and/or a plurality of different extensions for sets of contacts can also be used.
