摘要： A method for feeding sheet materials is disclosed, which is implemented by forwarding a plurality of sheet materials loaded on a loading plate with a rotating feeding roller toward a separation unit, for the leading edge of the sheet materials to be collided with a tapered face of taper member, and subsequently separating the uppermost of the loaded sheet materials through frictional force from the feeding roller after climbing over the taper member to be forwarded further to an image forming unit by way of a nip forming portion, while other underlying sheet materials are halted by the taper member owning to smaller frictional forces there between, thereby obviating the multiple feeding. In addition, the conditions suitable for sheet feeding can be satisfied for various sheet materials different in size and thickness by adjusting the distance between the point of contact of the uppermost sheet material with the feeding roller and that of nip formation, such that modulus values are equated to various sheet materials. As a result, considerably high sheet separation qualities are obtained obviating undue non-feeding or multiple feeding, and various kinds of sheet materials different in size, thickness and coefficient of friction, can be forwarded sheet by sheet securely to image forming unit, thereby achieving satisfactory image formation by means of image forming apparatuses incorporating the sheet feeding apparatuses disclosed herein.

摘要： A turbo-molecular pump has components including a stator column, a rotary shaft, and a blade connected to the rotary shaft for rotation therewith. A radiation temperature measuring apparatus has a radiation thermometer for measuring a temperature of a preselected one of the components of the turbo-molecular pump disposed within a view angle range of the radiation thermometer and in accordance with heat energy radiated from the preselected component. A hood is connected to the radiation thermometer so as to not interfere with the view angle range of the radiation thermometer and is configured to block heat energy radiated from components of the turbo-molecular pump disposed outside of the view angle range of the radiation thermometer.

摘要： A thread-groove pump mechanism portion PB employs a turn-back structure including a rotor formed of a multiple cylinder having an inner cylindrical rotor and an outer cylindrical rotor and a stator formed of a multiple cylinder having an inner cylindrical stator and on outer cylindrical stator. Gaps g1 and g3 defined by the outer walls of the rotor and the stator walls, and a gap g2 defined by the inner cylinder wall of the rotor and the stator wall during the rest of the pump are formed such that they increase with the distance from the rotor shaft center and g1>g2 and g1>g3 are satisfied. Thus, even if displacement occurs by the centrifugal force and thermal expansion during the operation of pump, predetermined gaps can be provided therebetween.

A cylindrical retainer member 9 is a thrust bearing retainer member and also a touchdown bearing retainer member. A touchdown bearing 4, i.e., a pair of roller bearings 4a and 4b disposed in upper and lower stages are received in an inner circumferential portion of the cylindrical retainer member 9. An annular gap G is formed between the inner circumferential surface of the cylindrical retainer member 9 and outer races of the pair of roller bearings 4a and 4b. A pair of corrugated strip steel plates 8a and 8b that are the corrugated plate-like damper members are inserted into this annular gap G. Also, a strip-like metal thin plate 10a is inserted while being clamped between the upper corrugated strip steel plate 8a and the lower corrugated strip steel plate 8b. Thus, the strip-like metal thin plate 10a functions as a positional offset preventing means of the pair of corrugated strip steel plates 8a and 8b.

摘要： A screw groove-type pump has a rotor member mounted for undergoing rotation, a stator member arranged so as to be coaxial with the rotor member and having a peripheral wall disposed opposite to and spaced-apart from a circumferential wall of the rotor member, an inlet port for introducing gas into a space between the circumferential wall of the rotor member and the peripheral wall of the stator member, and an outlet port for discharging gas introduced into the space between the circumferential wall of the rotor member and the peripheral wall of the stator member. A screw groove is formed on one of the circumferential wall of the rotor member and the peripheral wall of the stator member for transferring gas introduced into the inlet port through the space between the circumferential wall of the rotor member and the peripheral wall of the stator member and to the outlet port during rotation of the rotor member. The depth of the screw groove at a point thereof which is nearest the inlet port is equal to or larger than ¼ the diameter of one of the circumferential wall of the rotor member and the peripheral wall of the stator member. An angle of elevation of the screw groove with respect to a radial axis of the rotor member decreases toward the outlet port from the inlet port.

Further, a method of removing discharge products includes counting the number of sheets fed from a sheet container, determining that the number of sheets reaches a predetermined threshold value, confirming that a current time falls within a predetermined period of time or receiving a turn off signal to turn off a power supply, removing the discharge products from a surface of an attraction body, and resetting the number of sheets or further turning off the power supply.

The electric potential pattern has multiple potential holding sections of identical absolute values and opposite polarities disposed adjacent to each other at a uniform pitch. The electric potential pattern forming unit forms the electric potential pattern to have equal numbers of positive potential holding sections and negative potential holding sections.
