    Abstract: A wearable device configured to be positioned on a user's wrist, includes a case back configured to be at least partially in contact with the user's wrist, a heat flux sensor, configured to measure a heat flux coming from the user's wrist, and an optical sensor including at least one light emission assembly to emit light and at least one light reception assembly to receive light from the light emission assembly. Positions of each of the at least one light emission assembly and each of the at least one light reception assembly form a geometrical shape on the case back, as projected orthogonally on the case back. The heat flux sensor is arranged within the geometrical shape, as projected orthogonally on the case back.

    Abstract: An apparatus for estimating body temperature includes a sensor including a first sensor board; an object contact surface provided below the first sensor board; a thermally conductive material provided on an upper end of the first sensor board; a second sensor board provided on an upper end of the thermally conductive material; at least one first temperature sensor provided on the first sensor board and being configured to measure a surface temperature of the object; and at least one second temperature sensor provided on the second sensor board and being configured to measure a surface temperature of the thermally conductive material; and a processor configured to: measure a heat flux based on the surface temperature of the object and the surface temperature of the thermally conductive material; and estimate core temperature based on the measured heat flux and the surface temperature of the object.

    Abstract: A temperature sensor including a body made from a thermally and electrically conductive material, the body defined by a peripheral wall extending along a longitudinal axis from an open proximal end to a closed distal end. The proximal end defining an opening to an internal cavity of the body. A thermally responsive element including an outer surface, a temperature sensitive resistor electrically connected to a first lead, a second lead, and a connector block disposed substantially within the internal cavity. The inner surface of the peripheral wall defines the shape of a right circular cone at the distal end. The outer surface of the temperature sensitive resistor is in direct contact with the inner surface of the peripheral wall at the distal end. One of a thermally conductive and curable potting material and a thermally conductive grease disposed in the cavity and substantially surrounding the temperature responsive element.
