    摘要: An optical reproduction apparatus for reproducing information from an optical recording medium having grooves and lands alternately provided in a radial direction, information recording areas being formed in both of said grooves and said lands, and at least one prepit region where no groove is formed. In the prepit region, first information marks are disposed on a virtual extension of a first boundary between one groove and one adjacent land and second information marks are disposed on a virtual extension of a second boundary between the one groove and an other adjacent land. The prepit region includes a gap between the first and second information marks. The optical reproduction apparatus includes an irradiation source for irradiating a light spot on the optical recording medium, a detector for detecting a reflected light from the optical recording medium; and a reproducer for reproducing information by using a signal from the detector.

    摘要: An optical reproduction apparatus for reproducing information from an optical recording medium having an aligned prepit portion straddled on a plurality of tracks in a radial direction. The prepit portion includes first and second prepit portions divided in a track direction with a prepit of the respective first and second prepit portions being arranged on a boundary of the respective tracks. The first prepit portion has an address information prepit and a synchronous information prepit and the second prepit portion has a synchronous information prepit. A gap is provided between the first and second prepit portion. The optical reproduction apparatus includes an irradiation source for irradiating a light spot on the optical recording medium, a detector for detecting a reflected light from the optical recording medium, and a reproducer for reproducing information by using a signal from the detector.

    摘要: An optical reproduction apparatus for reproducing an optical recording medium having an aligned prepit portion straddled on a plurality of tracks in a radial direction, and comprising an irradiator, an optical detector, a reproducer, a signal detector and a controller. The prepit portion of the recording medium includes first and second prepit portions divided in a track direction and arranged on a boundary line of the respective tracks with the first and second prepit portions each having address information prepits arranged at every two-track pitch in the radial direction. Further, a gap portion lies between first and second prepit portions, the gap portion having a track direction length equal to or greater than a minimum mark length and equal to or less than a maximum mark length which is recorded.

    摘要: Regarding a signal recorded with a first frequency in a recording area on a specific first recording layer and a signal recorded with a second frequency different from the first frequency in a recording area on a second recording layer which might cause interlayer crosstalk in relation to the first recording layer, a reproducing signal measurement method for a multilayer optical recording medium having at least three recording layers includes reproducing the signal recorded in the recording area on the first recording layer, separating signals recorded respectively with the first and second frequencies, discriminating signal amplitude of the first frequency and a maximum value in signal amplitude of the second frequency, and calculating a signal amplitude ratio between them to measure interlayer crosstalk contained in the signal reproduced from the recording area on the first recording layer. Thus, the interlayer crosstalk quantity caused by unnecessary light can be measured quantitatively.

In the prepit region, first and second information marks are disposed on a virtual extension of respectively a first boundary between one groove and one adjacent land and a second boundary between the one groove and an other adjacent land with the first and second information marks being disposed so as not to exist at opposing positions on both of the first and second boundaries of the one groove.
