摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a main body portion including an image carrier, an image-carrier driving unit, a latent-image forming unit, a developing-unit attachment section, and a transfer-unit attachment section. The developing-unit attachment section receives a first developing unit having plural developing members or a second developing unit having a single developing member. The transfer-unit attachment section receives a first transfer unit, which includes a first transfer member capable of retaining a recording medium and a first transfer driving unit that rotates the first transfer member, and a second transfer unit, which includes a second transfer member that cannot retain the recording medium. When the first developing unit and the first transfer unit are attached to the developing-unit attachment section and the transfer-unit attachment section, respectively, the first transfer driving unit is mechanically connected to the first developing unit.

摘要: A recording medium and apparatus enable the number of data units of recording pulse information to be reduced. The recording medium includes an information area for recording set values of a recording pulse for forming recording marks. The set values include preceding space-based set values having a first reference value as a set value of a recording pulse corresponding to a predetermined preceding space and a first difference set value of a recording pulse corresponding to a space other than the predetermined preceding space; and trailing space-based set values having a second reference value as a set value of a recording pulse corresponding to a predetermined trailing space and a second difference set value of a recording pulse corresponding to a space other than the predetermined trailing space and which is expressed as a difference from the second reference value.

摘要: In write power adjustment for an optical disc having a plurality of information storage layers, data of trial writing is varied by the influence of layers other than a target layer. It is difficult, therefore, to determine optimal write power. A modulation M[m] is obtained from a reproduction signal amplitude of a signal subjected to the trial writing performed with use of write powers Pw[m] (m being an integer) of a plurality of kinds. At least an optimum write power intercept Pint_opt is determined by fitting a relation between the Pw[m] and the M[m] by a modulation characteristic formula M=Masy×(1−(Pint−Pasy)/(Pw−Pasy)) having an asymptotic modulation Masy, a write power intercept Pint, and an asymptotic write power Pasy as parameters. Approximation accuracy by the fitting and/or quality of the trial writing signal are evaluated with use of at least the M[m], the modulation characteristic formula, and the Pint_opt. An optimum write power Pw_opt is calculated by performing a specified operation at least with use of the Pint_opt.

摘要: A piston is provided in which the amount of uncombusted and discharged air-fuel mixture is small, and agglutination of a piston ring due to heat is prevented. In a piston 2 in which plural peripheral grooves in which piston rings are provided are formed in an outer peripheral surface, as the relation between an inner diameter B of a cylinder 1 and a distance L between an upper surface of the piston and an upper surface of a top peripheral groove 4a, L/B≦0.1 holds. A cooling chamber 5a is formed in close vicinity to the top peripheral groove. A dead volume S partitioned with the piston, a cylinder liner 11 and a top piston ring 3a is reduced, and the amount of air-fuel mixture enclosed here and discharged in uncombusted state is reduced. Further, agglutination of the top piston ring to the cylinder due to thermal load can be prevented with the cooling chamber 5a. The thermal efficiency as an engine is improved in comparison with conventional art.

摘要: An electrode active material mainly includes an organic compound having, in a structural unit thereof, a conjugated diamine structure represented by the general formula (I), and an electrolyte includes a carbonate ester compound represented by the general formula (II). In the formulae, R1 to R4 represent substituted or unsubstituted alkyl groups, or the like, whereas X1 to X4 represent a hydrogen atom or a substituent. A secondary battery is achieved which has a high energy density and thus produces a high output, and has favorable cycle characteristics with a small capacity degradation even in the case of repeating charge and discharge.

摘要: An item delivery service capable of distributing items while maintaining anonymity between an exhibitor (vendor) and a successful bidder (purchaser) is provided.According to a delivery management system (when used for an escrow system) of the present invention, an exhibitor terminal 240 is notified only of information about a delivery service base in charge of an address of a successful bidder for delivery of an item. Accordingly, the item can be delivered up to the delivery service base even when the exhibitor does not know personal information such as the address and name of the successful bidder. On the other hand, a service base terminal 232 of the delivery service base where the item arrives is notified of personal information of the successful bidder. Accordingly, the item can be delivered from the delivery service base to the successful bidder even if personal information of the exhibitor is not described on a delivery form or the like of the item (without notifying the successful bidder of personal information of the exhibitor). That is, according to the present invention, items can be distributed while maintaining anonymity between the exhibitor and the successful bidder.
