An image transferring method for transferring a developer agent layer having a visible image from a developing medium comprising a substrate and the developer agent layer on the substrate to a heat sealing sheet comprising a sheet substrate and a thermoplastic resin layer on the sheet substrate, is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of superposing the developing medium over the heat sealing sheet while the developer agent layer is contacted with the thermoplastic resin layer, supplying the superposed developing medium and the heat sealing sheet with heat and pressure to attach the developer agent layer to the heat sealing sheet through the thermoplastic resin layer, and exfoliating the substrate from the developing medium attached to the heat sealing sheet while fixing the sheet substrate of the heat sealing sheet to a flat or curved surface.

An image recording system wherein a capsule sheet carrying thereon a plurality of microcapsules each of which envelopes therein a developing agent pressed onto a sheet-shaped member desirably selected by a user to form a layer of a developing agent on the sheet-shaped member. Thereafter, a second capsule sheet coated with a plurality of microcapsules each of which envelopes therein a dye precursor and whose mechanical strength has been varied in accordance with the image to be recorded is pressed onto the sheet-shaped member with the layer of the developing agent. The microcapsules corresponding to the image to be recorded are ruptured and the dye precursors streamed out thereform react to the developing agent on the sheet-shaped member to develop a visible image thereon.

A photo and pressure sensitive recording medium comprising a base sheet, supporting thereon a color developing agent which reacts with a dye precursor to develop color and an adhesive substance with which the recording medium may be adhered to any suitable material or body. The color developing agent may be coated on one surface of the base sheet and adhesive is applied on the other surface of the base sheet. The adhesive substance may be of thermoplastic type or enveloped in microcapsules crushable under pressure. A peel-off sheet may be conted on the adhesive substance. Alternatively, the color developing agent and the adhesive substance may both be supported on one surface of the base sheet, as well as photo-curable microcapsules containing the dye precursor. The adhesive substance may also be enveloped in microcapsules which are ruptured under pressure to flow out the contained adhesive, with which the recording medium is bonded to a general-purpose sheet such as ordinary paper to provide a one-body recorded sheet.

The water-based ink contains a phosphate-group modified self-dispersing pigment, water, and a water-soluble organic solvent. The treatment liquid contains an aggregating agent, water, and a water-soluble organic solvent. A dynamic surface tension of the water-based ink, measured under the condition where a life time is about 50 ms, is in the range of 35 mN/m to 45 mN/m. A dynamic surface tension of the treatment liquid, measured under the condition where a life time is about 50 ms, is in the range of 33 mN/m to 45 mN/m.

New blue inks are provided for inkjet printing, especially using piezoelectric printers, on papers which are typically difficult to print with good quality, high-contrast images. The inks are characterized by a color of the ink (color illumination D65) of L*: about 37±5, a*: about 7±7, b*: about −27±8. The inks contain an aqueous vehicle including water and a humectant comprising a polyhydric alcohol, a penetrant, surfactant, and a blue dye. The relative amounts of the aqueous vehicle, the penetrant, the surfactant and the blue dye, are effective to provide an ink having a viscosity and surface tension effective for inkjet printing, especially for piezoelectric printing, having a viscosity of from about 2 to about 4 mPa·s and a surface tension of from 30 to 50 mN/m. Also provided are a process for printing an image and a printed image prepared using the ink.

The first fluorescent dye has a first ultraviolet absorption wavelength region in an absorption spectrum and a first fluorescence emission wavelength region in a fluorescence spectrum. The second fluorescent dye has a second ultraviolet absorption wavelength region which is different from the first ultraviolet absorption wavelength region in an absorption spectrum and a second fluorescence emission wavelength region in a fluorescence spectrum. The first fluorescent dye further has an absorption wavelength region which is different from the first ultraviolet absorption wavelength region and which overlaps at least a part of the second fluorescence emission wavelength region.

An ink for ink-jet recording includes water, a basic dye, and a specified pH-adjusting agent. Those usable as the pH-adjusting agent include, for example, monoethanolamine, diethanolamine, ammonium hydrogencarbonate, and sodium carbonate. An image, which is excellent in chromaticness and color feature, can be formed. Further, metal portions, especially an ink tank, a head, and ink flow passages thereof are prevented from corrosion which would be otherwise caused by the ink.
