Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A surface used to reflect radio frequency signals may receive requests from multiple devices to configure a set of reflection coefficients. Each request may include a set of reflection coefficients and an indication of a priority level of communications associated with the set of reflection coefficients. A set of reflection coefficients included in a message transmitted from a device may be based on a position of another device relative to the device and the surface. The surface may configure a set of reflection coefficients based on the priority levels associated with the sets of reflection coefficients received in the requests.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the proposed techniques provide for a semi-persistent design for communicating rate-split messages from a network entity to multiple user equipments (UEs). The network entity may transmit control information to one or more UEs indicating encoding information for receipt of one or more downlink messages to be communicated during respective downlink occasions, which may be configured for rate-split communications. Thus, a first UE may be made aware of one or more semi-persistent downlink occasions via which respective downlink messages (e.g., respective to each downlink occasion) are to be encoded into a common portion and a private portion. In some cases, the common portion may be common with other downlink messages (e.g., intended for other UEs) and the private portion may be specific to the first UE. The first UE may then decode the rate-split downlink messages according to the encoding information.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for mitigation of interference related to full-duplex communications for random access channel (RACH) initial access procedures in shared radio frequency spectrum. A user equipment (UE) may send different RACH preambles subsequent to a channel access procedure, based on whether full-duplex communications or half-duplex communications are being used at a corresponding network entity. The different RACH preambles may include a longer RACH preamble that is used when full-duplex is present, and a shorter RACH preamble that is used when full-duplex is not present. The shorter or longer RACH preamble may be used, for example, based at least in part on an open-loop transmit power for the RACH procedure, a RACH occasion configuration that provides different preamble lengths for different RACH occasions, a full-duplexing type that is being used, or any combinations thereof.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support enhanced sidelink carrier aggregation feedback operations. In a first aspect, a method of wireless communication includes receiving, by a wireless communication device, a sidelink shared channel transmission via a first component carrier. The method also includes obtaining, by the wireless communication device, a feedback resource indication. The method further includes transmitting, by the wireless communication device, a sidelink channel feedback transmission in a sidelink channel feedback transmission resource via a second component carrier different from the first component carrier. The sidelink channel feedback transmission resource is determined based on the feedback resource indication, and the sidelink channel feedback transmission indicates feedback data for the sidelink shared channel transmission. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for a user equipment (UE) to determine a retransmission pattern within a slot based on a transport block retransmission selection scheme. In some cases, the UE may be allocated sub-slots within a slot for retransmitting multiple transport blocks, and may determine how to utilize a sub-slot allocated for a retransmission of a transport block that is not to be retransmitted. For example, the UE may transmit a new transport block via an unutilized sub-slot, or may repeat a retransmission of a transport block via the unutilized sub-slot in addition to an allocated sub-slot. Additionally, or alternatively, unutilized sub-slots may be re-allocated to other UEs via signaling from a network entity or coordination between sidelink UEs.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A relay device may detect that a network has transitioned from a first energy state mode to a second energy state mode and the second energy state mode may be associated with a reduced network coverage area relative to a network coverage area associated with the first energy state mode. The relay device may activate a relaying function at the relay device based on detecting that the network has transitioned to the second energy state mode and a location of the relay device with respect to the reduced network coverage area. The relay device may communicate with a user equipment (UE) and a network entity of the network to relay transmissions between the UE and the network entity based at least in part on activating the relaying function.
