Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for multiplexing initial access transmissions with data and/or control transmissions. For example, the techniques include a method for wireless communication by a first base station (BS). The method includes communicating, in a first time interval, with at least a first user equipment (UE), via directional transmissions using a first set of frequency resources, and participating in at least one of an access or management procedure, during the first time interval, via directional transmissions using a second set of frequency resources.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described that provide for synchronization signal (SS) blocks in which synchronization signals and broadcast channel transmissions may be transmitted. Broadcast channel transmissions may be demodulated using SS transmissions, reference signal transmissions, or combinations thereof. Broadcast channel transmissions may be transmitted in a subset of SS block time resources, and synchronization signals may be transmitted in another subset of SS block time resources. Reference signals may be transmitted using tones within the broadcast channel time resources, and may be transmitted at a higher density for portions of the broadcast channel transmission bandwidth that are outside of the SS transmission bandwidth. Waveforms for reference signal transmissions, and information provided by reference signal transmissions may be provided.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for radar signaling s are described. In some systems, devices may select radar parameters (e.g., frequency modulated continuous wave waveform parameters) to support coexistence for multiple radar sources in the system. To reduce mutual interference between radar waveforms in a system, a user equipment may detect interference from at least one interference source (e.g., another device transmitting a radar waveform) and may select waveform parameters for transmission of a radar waveform based on the detected interference. For example, the user equipment may determine slopes, frequency offsets, codewords, or a combination thereof used by nearby devices in the system (e.g., per chirp or for a waveform) and may select waveform parameters that result in low mutual interference with the determined slopes, frequency offsets, codewords, or combination thereof. The user equipment may transmit the radar waveform according to the selected waveform parameters.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless node may transmit directional signals in a sweeping transmission pattern while receiving communications from a second wireless node. Another wireless node may then, during a listen-before-talk (LBT) procedure, receive one of the directional signals, and terminate a correspondence communication session to avoid potential interference. Additionally or alternatively, a wireless node may listen in directions in a sweeping receive pattern while transmitting to a second wireless node. While listening, the wireless node may detect a transmission from a third wireless node in a particular direction. The wireless node may then accordingly refrain from transmitting in that direction to avoid potential interference.

For example, a method of wireless communications by a first base station may include transmitting a first set of initial access signals in different directions, receiving a second set of one or more signals from a user equipment (UE) in response to the first set of initial access signals, and initiating transmission of, or conveying configuration of, a third set of reference signals with an indication of their corresponding directions, based on reception of the second set of signals.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may report a phase-noise compensation reference signal (PCRS) configuration to a base station to enable per-UE PCRS signaling. For example, a UE may operate in a wireless communications system using carrier frequencies greater than 6 GHz, which may be affected by phase noise. The UE may accordingly determine a PCRS configuration based on a capability to receive signals. The PCRS configuration may include a resource mapping for one or more PCRS, a number of PCRS ports used for PCRS, a multiplexing scheme for one or more PCRS ports, or the UE's phase noise estimation capability. The UE may then transmit a reporting message including the PCRS configuration to a base station. The base station may use the PCRS configuration for PCRS transmissions to the UE.

In some aspects, the number of beams may be based on the type of channel that is used to send the uplink control information.
