Abstract: Aspects are provided in which narrow channels are configured and carrier aggregated with defined channel bandwidths in order to support irregular channel bandwidths that are not a multiple of 5 MHz or other defined bandwidth multiple. An apparatus such as a UE receives, from a base station, a configuration for carrier aggregation for a PCell and one or more SCells. A total bandwidth of the PCell and the one or more SCells is not a defined bandwidth multiple. The apparatus communicates with the base station through the PCell and the one or more SCells. In this way, the available spectrum of wireless operators that include channel bandwidths of irregular size may be supported.

The message type may be either a first message type or a second message type that is different from the second message type. The message type may be determined based at least in part on whether a signal strength satisfies a signal strength threshold. The user equipment may transmit the random access message based at least in part on the determined message type. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: Orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) numerologies that maintain symbol boundary alignment while distributing excess cyclic prefixes (CPs) among OFDM symbols. Communication is established using a first sub-carrier spacing (SCS) and a first OFDM numerology, such as an exemplary numerology that distributes excess CP duration among a set of symbols that occupy a time interval within or equal to a corresponding time interval of a symbol of a second OFDM numerology with a second lower SCS. The first SCS may be, e.g., 960 kHz. The second SCS may be, e.g., 120 kHz. Another exemplary OFDM numerology described herein distributes the excess CP as prefix and postfix portions to one of the symbols, such as the first symbol of a set. Communication then proceeds using the first OFDM numerology at the first SCS and, in illustrative examples, using the second OFDM numerology at the second SCS or other OFDM numerologies at other SCSs.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may transmit or otherwise indicate a semi-static slot format configuration and a dynamic slot format configuration to a user equipment (UE). The UE may determine a slot format configuration based on the received semi-static and dynamic slot format configurations. In some cases, the UE may replace certain resources of the semi-static slot format configuration with resources from the dynamic slot format configuration depending on a certain embodiment. Additionally or alternatively, the base station may transmit an anchor slot configuration to the UE, which may indicate which resources of the semi-static slot format configuration can be overridden or replaced by the dynamic slot format configuration.

Abstract: The position of a target user equipment (UE) is determined using an anchor UE and sidelink communication signals transmitted from the target UE to the anchor UE. During a positioning session, the anchor UE receives from the target UE sidelink communication signals, such as data signals and/or data related reference signals. The anchor UE performs positioning measurements for the sidelink communication signals from the target UE, such as timing based, angle based, or power based measurements. The anchor UE provides the positioning measurements of the sidelink communication signals to a location server, which may use the positioning measurements, along with a known position of the anchor UE to determine the position of the target UE.

A transmitting user equipment (UE) may determine a set of resources for sidelink communication with one or more neighboring UEs. The transmitting UE may transmit multiple sidelink control messages to the neighboring UEs indicating the set of resources are reserved for a sidelink data message. The neighboring UEs may receive at least one of the sidelink control messages. A neighboring UE may determine a portion of the resources are reserved for a sidelink data message with the transmitting UE and may transmit or receive the sidelink data message using the portion of the resources. Additionally or alternatively, a neighboring UE may determine the resources are reserved for a sidelink data message between the transmitting UE and another neighboring UE and may select alternative resources for sidelink data messages to may avoid using the reserved resources.

A user equipment (UE) may receive control signaling configuring the UE with a set of frequency resources and a semi-persistent resource allocation indicating a semi-persistent resource occasion on each frequency resource of the set. The UE may monitor semi-persistent resource occasions on each of the set of frequency resources for a copy of a data transmission. If the UE receives and decodes the data transmission from at least one of the semi-persistent resource occasions, the UE may transmit an acknowledgement message on a frequency resource of the set. Additionally, the UE may refrain from transmitting a feedback message on the other frequency resources of the set. If the UE does not receive and successfully decode the data transmission from any of the semi-persistent resource occasions, the UE may transmit a negative acknowledgement message on one of the set of frequency resources.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some systems, a user equipment (UE) may receive a configuration of a set of feedback channel occasions corresponding to a first sidelink data channel in a first listen-before-talk (LBT) sub-band, the set of feedback channel occasions located over multiple LBT sub-bands of an unlicensed radio frequency spectrum band. The UE may receive a data transmission over the first sidelink data channel and may determine to transmit feedback associated with the data transmission. The UE, based on the configuration of the set of feedback channel occasions, may perform LBT for each of the set of feedback channel occasions to determine which of the set of feedback channel occasions are available to the UE for transmitting the feedback associated with the data transmission. The UE may transmit feedback over one or more of the set of feedback channel occasions accordingly.
