    摘要: A magnetic recording medium comprising a support having provided thereon a magnetic layer, wherein a smooth coating layer having a thickness of from 0.10 to 1 μm, surface roughness of 5 nm or less, and 20 or less per 900 μm2 of the protrusions having a height of 20 nm or more measured by an interatomic force microscope (AFM) is provided on the surface of at least one side of the support. And a method for producing a magnetic recording medium comprising a support having provided thereon a magnetic layer, which comprises providing a smooth coating layer having a thickness of from 0.10 to 1 μm, surface roughness of 5 nm or less, and 20 or less per 900 μm2 of the protrusions having a height of 20 nm or more measured by an interatomic force microscope (AFM) on the surface of at least one side of the support, and forming at least the magnetic layer on the smooth coating layer without performing rolling-up operation.

    摘要: An electrolytic aqueous solution tank (4) and a waste liquid tank (32) are disposed above a pump (6) to prevent electrolytic water from flowing to the waste liquid tank from the electrolytic aqueous solution tank under a siphoning effect. The electrolytic aqueous solution tank (4) and the waste liquid tank (32) are formed separately from the housing (2) so that both tanks can be attached to and detached from the housing (2). The electrolytic aqueous solution tank (4) and the waste liquid tank (32) are urged against the housing (2) by means of an elastic member (66) attached to the tank (4) and an elastic member (70) attached to the tank (32). As a result, when the waste liquid tank (32) is removed, it is inclined and hence there is no fear of spilling of waste liquid.

    摘要: A low cost hydraulic tensioner of die-casting metal or synthetic resin with a separate metallic cylinder free from dropping out of the cylinder and fine surface finishing, is provided. The tensioner 1 comprises a metallic cylinder 4 fitted to a cylindrical hole 3 formed in a body 2, a plunger 5 energized by a spring 7 and a pressure oil chamber 8 formed between the inner part of plunger 5 and the cylinder 4. The cylinder 4 is provided with a bottom plate 4B having a through hole 4A allowing the inflow of oil. The bottom plate 4B is prevented from dropping out from the body 2 by being engaged by the spring 7.

    摘要: In a chain tensioner having a plunger biased to protrude from a housing by a spring, a pair of wedge-shaped cams are received in tapered recesses in the end of the housing, cooperate with racks formed on opposite sides of the plunger, and are urged against oblique seats formed by the tapered recesses by a biasing spring. The cams and racks produce a ratcheting action maintaining chain tension by preventing retracting movement of the plunger. The cams and racks disperse the load imparted to the plunger by the chain, and reduce localized wear, allowing the housing to be made from a light weight material such as aluminum. Accuracy requirements associated with conventional pawl-type ratcheting tensioners are avoided.

    摘要: An image recording apparatus includes an image forming device, a fixing device, a cooling device and a controller. The image forming device forms an image on a recording medium on the basis of an image signal generated by an image signal generating unit. The fixing device uses heat to fix the image formed on the recording medium, and the cooling device cools the inside of the apparatus. The controller selectively executes either a first economy mode in which the cooling device is activated and the fixing device is inactivated on the basis of a command from the image signal generating unit, or a second economy mode in which both the cooling device and the fixing device are inactivated.
