    摘要: An optical switch changes the refractive index of an electro-optical crystal according to an electric field applied to the electro-optical crystal so as to switch depending on whether the electro-optical crystal enables incident light to pass through or whether the electro-optical crystal enables incident light to be totally reflected. The optical switch includes an electrode section including a plurality of electrodes and formed in the electro-optical crystal, a principal plane including the largest area of each electrode on a same plane of the electro-optical crystal; an insulator layer on at least one plane of the electro-optical crystal, the plane being parallel with the electrode section, the insulator layer made of an insulator with lower dielectric constant than the electro-optical crystal; and a temperature control device formed on and in contact with the insulator layer and controls a temperature of the electrode section or dissipates heat generated in the electrode section.

    摘要: A projector that can solve a problem in which a projection image is disturbed due to deviation of incident positions of projection light to a screen is provided. Projection section 11 includes LD light emission section 111 and scanning section 112 that scans light emitted by LD light emission section 111 and projects the scanned light to the rear plane side of the screen. Control section 12 controls an amount of light emission of the light and a scanning angle of scanning section 112 based on an image signal so as to cause projection section 11 to project an image corresponding to the image signal to the screen. Control section 12 corrects an orientation of projection light corresponding to each pixel of the image projected from projection section 11 based on a refractive index of the light transmission member and a scanning angle of scanning section 112 so as to correct an incident position of the projection light on the screen.

    摘要: A display device having an optical waveguide and a light source are provided, and also having a louver, a transparent/scattering state switching element, and a transmissive liquid crystal display panel provided in the order indicated on the side of the light-emitting surface of the optical waveguide. The transparent/scattering state switching element switches between a state for scattering the incident light and a state for transmitting the light without scattering. The light source drive circuit causes the transparent/scattering state switching element to transfer from the transparent state to the scattering state, and when the viewing angle range of the display is switched from narrow to wide, the intensity of the light source is gradually increased in conjunction with the transition state of the transparent/scattering state switching element. By this configuration, abnormal flashing during switching of the radiation angle can be prevented in a planar light source device that is capable of switching the radiation angle range.

    摘要: A drive circuit for a LCD device has a plurality of drive sections corresponding to a plurality of data lines in a pixel matrix. Each drive section receives a corresponding portion of a video signal to deliver the signal portion to a corresponding data line. The output circuit of each drive section includes an nMOS transistor, first switch, second switch and a pMOS transistor connected in series between power source lines to output the signal portion through the output node connecting the first switch and the second switch together. The nMOS transistor and pMOS transistor operate alternately for delivering a a positive signal and negative signal, respectively, thereby making it unnecessary to reset the data line for reducing power dissipation.
