摘要: The invention relates to a chemical sensor comprising a sensor film formed of a nanoparticle network in which the nanoparticles are interlinked by functionalized dendrimer molecules. The dendrimers support an efficient uptake of analyte molecules by the film material and therefore enable a high sensitivity of the sensor. In addition, the chemical nature of the dendrimers strongly determines the chemical selectivity of the sensor device. By cross-linking the components of the sensitive material the sensor displays a good mechanical stability.

摘要: The present invention is related to the linker molecules comprising one or more nucleic acid binding group and one or more nanoparticle binding group which are connected covalently by a spacer group. The problem underlying the present invention is to provide methods for the controlled and selective metallisation of nucleic acids, the production of nanowires which may be used, e. g., in the formation of electronic networks and circuits allowing a high density arrangement, and the components of devices that may be incorporated in such networks and circuits. This problem is solved by a linker molecule which comprises one or more nucleic acid binding group(s) and one or more nanoparticle binding group(s) which are connected covalently by a spacer group. Such linkers can be used for the manufacture of nucleic acid/linker conjugates, nanoparticle/linker conjugates, and nanoparticle/linker/nucleic acid composites and further nanowires, electronic networks, electronic circuits and junctions comprising said nanowires.

摘要: An overlaying alloy containing no Cr or a reduced amount of Cr, in which an effective amount of Mo oxide is formed even in a weak oxidizing atmosphere such as a combustion atmosphere of diesel engines and engines using CNG, LPG or other gases as a fuel to provide an improved non-damaging property and wear resistance. An overlaying alloy comprising 20-70 wt % Mo, 0.5-3 wt % C, 5-40 wt % Ni, and the balance being Fe and unavoidable impurities, which contains no Cr to facilitate formation of Mo oxide and is advantageously applied to the parts on which an oxide coating is not easily formed such as the engine parts subject to a lower temperature combustion atmosphere. An overlaying alloy comprising 20-60 wt % Mo, 0.2-3 wt % C, 5-40 wt % Ni, 0.1-10 wt % Cr, and the balance of Fe and unavoidable impurities, which contains a small amount of Cr to control formation of Mo oxide and is advantageously applied to the parts on which an oxide coating is relatively easily formed. Other alloying elements such as Mn, Co, Si, Nb may be added in the alloy in accordance with need.

摘要: Disclosed herein are a liquid crystal composition which has a low viscosity and exhibits a high response speed while keeping the characteristic properties (e.g., orientation and switching performance) required of liquid crystal materials, a liquid crystal element based on said liquid crystal composition, and a process for producing said liquid crystal composition. The liquid crystal composition contains a clathrate compound of liquid crystal molecules with cyclodextrin or a derivative thereof. The clathrate compound functions to increase the free volume of liquid crystal molecules. The liquid crystal composition is prepared by dissolving in a solvent a liquid crystal and cyclodextrin (or a derivative thereof), thereby forming a clathrate compound and adding this clathrate compound to a base liquid crystal material.

摘要: An electrochromic display is disclosed, in which an electrochromic material layer is disposed between a pair of plates each having an array of electrodes. The electrochromic material layer is composed of leuco dyes, supporting electrolyte and binder. The leuco dyes can be colored and discolored upon application of current thereto in a liquefied state of the material layer. Melting the material layer and application of current are carried out by the array of the electrodes.
