    摘要: A ball valve includes a ball member rotatable in a valve chamber and cooperating with a pair of opposed seal assemblies. Each seal assembly comprises a support ring and disc spring having a resilient seal member interposed therebetween. A normally occuring void in the valve chamber is filled through use of a pair of dead space rings. These dead space rings are formed of a rigid, low friction material that does not substantially increase the torque required to rotate the ball member. In addition, the rigid material prevents cold flow of the material into the fluid passageway.

    摘要: A ball valve for low and high pressure applications including a metallic seat member that toroidally deflects into sealing engagement with a ball member outer surface upon valve assembly. The seat member includes an outer circumferential rim portion and a radially inward extending frusto-conical portion. The rim portion is radially interposed between an annular, resilient flange member and an annular support member. The rim portion and resilient flange member define a behind-the-seat seal while the frusto-conical portion and support member abuttingly engage during extreme pressure conditions for added structural support. The radially innermost edge of the frusto-conical portion has an arcuate conformation to inhibit scoring of the ball member surface.

    摘要: A locking assembly for locking a multi-sided nut-like member in a desired communicating relationship with a valve body. The locking assembly includes a lock plate having a planar body portion with a locking opening defined by a plurality of sides oriented relative to each other in a closed, star-like configuration. The locking opening is adapted to be closely received over and communicate with the sides of an associated nut-like member. The body portion also includes an arcuate mounting slot spaced from the locking opening and which is adapted to receive a lock plate mounting fastener therethrough. A continuous side wall or skirt portion depends from the periphery of the body portion and serves to space the body portion from the surface of an associated valve body. Preferably, a lock plate adapter is also provided. The adapter includes a body member having a through opening which is received over a section of the associated nut-like member, and a securing member cooperable with the lock plate mounting slot. The lock plate adapter also includes a mounting portion adapted for disposition in contacting relation with the associated valve body.

    摘要: A ball valve having an improved relationship between the ball and associated seat rings and an improved seat ring design. The ball is mounted for selective rotation and limited axial movement in a valve body passageway. Seat rings disposed on diametrically opposite sides of the ball about valve inlet and outlet openings each include a ball engaging surface having an arcuate contour. At a relaxed preassembly reference position, the radius of curvature of the ball engaging surface is greater than the radius of curvature of the ball. Frusto-conical disc springs interposed between each seat ring and an associated valve body shoulder additionally urge the seat rings into engagement with the ball. A reinforcing ring disposed at the forward end of each seat ring acts as a rigid bearing surface. Component sizing is such that in the assembled valve, the seat rings are slightly rotatably flexed in response to the engaging surfaces thereof engaging the ball such that the surfaces are distorted to have a mating relationship with the ball. At the same time, the disc springs are compressed while continuously urging the seat ring ball engaging surfaces into ball engagement.

In other embodiments, the non-integral torque collar may be installed onto one of the fitting components, and then deformed so as to prevent or make it more difficult to remove the torque collar after installation onto the fitting component.

The socket is defined by a radial drive surface positioned to engage the conduit gripping member during pull-up, a first longitudinal surface radially outward of said drive surface and a tapered second longitudinal surface between the drive surface and the first longitudinal surface, wherein a conduit gripping device contacts the second longitudinal surface upon an initial pull-up and each remake. This geometry facilitates a greater number of available remakes by reducing lost stroke, and can provide less stroke loss for fittings pulled up by torque.

    摘要: High localized loading, galling, and high torque forces have been generally eliminated or greatly reduced in a two ferrule tube fitting assembly through suitable modification of the rear ferrule so as to redirect the reaction forces acting between the front ferrule and the drive nut. The rear ferrule has a cylindrical interior wall that closely surrounds the tube end and is provided on the interior cylindrical wall with a circumferentially continuous radial recess that is located between the nose and rear wall of the rear ferrule. The rear ferrule also has a radially external wall that is substantially conical and additionally shaped to extend radially outward toward the enlarged diameter portion or flange of the rear ferrule. The rear ferrule further includes a contoured face on the rear driven surface of the ferrule that engages the drive surface of the drive nut.
