    摘要: A common electrode 43 for display, which is originally provided in a liquid crystal display element, is also used as one (drive electrode) of a pair of electrodes for a touch sensor, and the other (detection-electrode-for-the-sensor 44) of the pair of electrodes is newly formed. An existing common drive signal Vcom as a drive signal for display is used in common for a drive signal for the touch sensor. A capacitance is formed between the common electrode 43 and the detection-electrode-for-the-sensor 44, and touch detection is performed by utilizing a change of this capacitance caused by a finger touch of a user. Thus, a display device with a touch sensor is also applicable to a mobile device in which electric potential of the user is inconstant in many cases. The newly-provided electrode is only the detection-electrode-for-the-sensor 44, and it is unnecessary to newly prepare a drive signal for the touch sensor. Therefore, the configuration is simple.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display module including a liquid crystal display having a plurality of liquid crystal cells, a plurality of switches and a common connection, each liquid crystal cell being connected between a respective switch and a common connection. The common connection includes strips, each extending in a first direction and the strips being arranged side-by-side in a second direction. The liquid crystal cells are arranged in rows, each row being along and connected to a strip. The liquid crystal display has gate lines, each gate line operating a respective plurality of the switches. For dot inversion, each gate operates switches connected to respective liquid crystal cells of two adjacent rows. For each row, a first set of alternate liquid crystal cells are connected to respective switches operated by a respective gate line and a second set of interspersed liquid crystal cells are connected to respective switches operated by another respective gate line.

    摘要: A touch detector capable of achieving high position resolution while improving detection sensitivity to a touch is provided. The touch detector includes: a plurality of drive electrodes arranged side by side to extend in one direction; a detection electrode extending in a direction orthogonal to a direction where the drive electrodes extend, and arranged to form a capacitance at each of intersections with the drive electrodes; and a scanning drive section sequentially selecting a predetermined plural number of target electrodes from the plurality of drive electrodes in a time-divisional manner, and applying a touch detection drive signal with a plurality of pulse waveforms for detecting an external adjacent object to the selected target electrodes to perform a scanning drive. A scanning pitch in the scanning drive is smaller than the total width of the plural number of selected target electrodes.
